I called what I thought was QQuality Inn in Daytona Beach. The phone number was hacked by someone in India. I made my reswervations which I thought was through the front desk. 2 nights at $159.95. I needed to cancel one night and called the front desk 24 hrs prior to cancel. They said I booked through expedia. How was this possible when I didn't use a computer. Anyway I called expedia which said I used hotels.com. Once on holf for a minimum of 50 minutes (that is when they pick up)they said they needed to speak to the manager of the hotel to issue a credit. I said I am at the front desk and the manager is right here, you can talk on my phone or call the front desk(They suddenly had connection problems and disconnected). The manager said they charged me 3 times the normal rate. She went on a web site and typed in the phone # 1-800-394-1454 which showed up as a fradulent company posing as hotels.com. I talked to Manny and Gabby at this number with no success. The Quality Inn in Daytona couldn't do anything because it waS A THIRD PARTY reservation. Which is not what I was led to believe when I called. Anyway , my credit card has been blocked and I am refutting charges with my bank. Be sure when you make a reservation , ask for the walk in rate and I paid 3 times the normal rate! I believe it is Ians Travel Service out of India that has hacked in but can't be certain
