Ahhhhhhhhh! What criminals. I ordered online and paid an extra $40 rush on my already extremely expensive dress. It arrived 4 weeks after the date they told me to expect it. My cousin got hers just one day later and she didn't pay for rush. They would not re-fund me. When I finally got my "rush" order my alterateration lady told me that my "size 10" was a size 6 in the waist, a size 14 in the hips and a size 12+ in the bust. And of course they left NO room to alter it.

What was actually the most terrible thing was their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced, and they told me I couldn't speak to the manager and only email her. I did so and never got any email back. Turn them in to the BBB! What a way to ruin the "happiest day of your life"! Horrible company, the meanest employees I've ever come across. Thanks to them I have to tell the bride to be that I cannot be in her wedding. House of Brides is a living nightmare!

Refund and Rush order abuse

AUTHOR: Employee - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, June 14, 2010

The 'customer service' department is a joke. When I first came on board, I went straight to my supervisor because if the worker couldn't find your order, explain the months it took you to get a refund, or why 60% of the orders needed a 'rush' when there was plenty of time for your dress to be made, they could and would hang up on you!

When I went out of my way to help a customer, I was reprimanded.

I felt so badly for these women who placed their trust in this horrible company. I would have to make excuses for why an order placed in January or February and the date could not be made in time; why they have not gotten the money back on their credit card. The truth is, the owner holds the money as long as he can so he can earn interest on it.

We get paid $10 an hour with no benefits. We don't get paid for sick days. if you want your work area clean, you clean it. The bathroom is filthy but if you want it clean, you clean it! This is a place that makes MILLIONS of dollars per year and this is how they treat the employees who make that money for them so it's no wonder the customers are treated like dirt!

If 30% of the weddings are messed up due to lack of care or respect from House of Brides, there are many more orders coming in so it doesn't matter to them!
