The bridemaids ordered their dresses in December 2005 and as of today June 2, 2006, they have not arrived. This far exceeds their 16 week window as stated in the frequently asked questions section of the web site. No answer to multiple calls. Finally got ahold of someone last week who was vey rude and stated they only had the order for one dress and not the others. When questioned again about the status of the orders, they stated they had all of of them but they had not be shipped. The Wedding is June 23. HOB had no difficulty processing my daughter's credit card within 24 hours of the order.

I thank others who have done similar postings because I could get the name of the owner and the customer service manager. My plan is to call first thing on Monday to verify that indeed all of the dresses will be arriving on time. The bridemaids met their commitment now HOB needs to meet theirs.

This will be the last time I will do business with HOB and I highly recommend others to go elsewhere. I will report the final outcome on this website and I hope it is a positive one.

Finally a Response

House of Brides finally called back today to state that they will issue me a FULL REFUND for non delivery of the dress. I have asked for confirmation of this via email. You could say I am a little gun shy.

The back up dress I bought for my daughter fits perfectly except for hemming and the tailor assured me the dress will be ready no later than 10 am on June 23 (the wedding day). I have done business with this tailor for many years and I trust her. There is no amount of money nor time that can make up for the emotional distress HOB has caused.

For those of you that need to know the President of HOB is Dale E Buziecki 1184 Rossevelt Rd, Glenn Ellyn Illinois 60137.

Totally Ripped Off by House of Brides

June 17 still no dress. I have sent emails to HOB with no response. Called to speak with Joan and she is never there. I'm beginning to wonder if she exists. I called customer service today and informed them that I wanted a full refund and they told me Joan (the manager) is the only one who could authorize a refund and that I should email her. I told them I have and Joan never responds!!! A demand for a refund was emailed and faxed to Joan today with a deadline of a response from her by June 20. If no response by June 20, I will start small claims court proceedings.

I was fortunate enough to find a dress for my daughter at the Wedding Gown Superstore in Fremont Calif. They were OUTSTANDIING. They worked with my daughter over the phone to get her measurements and then had her go to a bridal shop near her home town to try on sample dresses made by the same designer. They put the dress aside (contrary to their policy) till we had confirmation of measurements and fit. I picked up the dress today at half the price I paid for the HOB dress.

STAY AWAY FROM HOUSE OF BRIDES. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!

Stay Away from House of Brides

June 14 and still no dress and no response to my email. In my email sent to them on June 13 I gave them a deadline to respond by close of business June 15 or I will start legal action. I found a great web site for initiating a small claims suit.


I have made phone calls on June 13 and 14 and both times the manager Joan was not in and messages were left for her to call me back. The customer service reps Colleen and Sarah assured me that they would give the message to Joan. Suprise!!! no call back. I filed a complaint with the BBB in Chicago and HOB has till June 24 to respond. The wedding is June 23. I was stunned to read in the BBB that HOB has a satisfactory standing despite all the complaints. Please to all of you that have been submitting your comments on this site, submit a complaint to the BBB in Chicago. With enough voices HOB will either change their ways or close down. I am also contacting Channel 7 news in Chicago to request an investigation of HOB practices. HOB has pissed off the wrong person. Everyone stay away from House of Brides!!!

till no dress and the tracking indicates that electronic notification occured on May 30 with arrival June 6 in Bell calif (2 hours from the final destination of La Mesa Calif) Today June 13 indicates shipment is in Illinois!!! Called Customer service and they were totally un helpful.

When I asked for the customer rep to give me her name for f/u she stated her name was Colleen but it was against their policy to give last names. How convenient. When I asked for the name of the owner of the company she said she only knew the name of the manager and her name was Joan but she didn't know her last name. I guess you don't need a last name to work there.

I sent an email demanding a call back from an executive NOT a sales clerk.
I am submitting a report to the BBB and then seeking legal action and will pursue the maximum. We must band together and put HOB out of business.

House of Brides is House of Horrors

As of today June 12, there is still no dress. HOB indicated that they shipped the dress on May 30 but the US Postal Service did not receive it till June 6 and it was shipped by ground. The wedding is June 23 and the wedding party is flying out June 20. Our hope is that the dress does not require any alteration.

The receipt of order was dated by HOB as 12/24/2005 with an expected delivery date of March!!! There has been NO answers to emails or phone calls. I am creating a document to pursue legal action against HOB.

If any employee of HOB would like to challenge my allegations, I welcome the challenge since I have documented proof of all the statements I have made.

I have no idea how HOB can stay in business.
To anyone considering using HOB DO NOT do business with them.
