On March 21, 2016 I ordered a pair of $69.00 Hoverkicks light up sneakers for my 11 year old son as an Easter present.  These snealers were all he could talk about, they were cool and light up. He couldn't wait to have the Easter bunny bring them to him.

The sneakers shipped from Hoverkicks ( or so I thought) they ship from overseas (clue number one), on March 22nd.  I recieved them via UPS on March 24th and held onto them until Easter Sunday March 27th at which point they ended up in my sons Easter Basket. When he saw them Easter morning he was so ecstatic, he couldn't wait to try them on. He wore them for three days, each for only  a short time and charged them as per the manufacturers directions.

On Wednesday March 30th the left shoe no longer would take a charge.  I contacted the company via e-mail and included a video of the clearly defective shoe. When Hoverkicks replied, I was advised to watch the Tutorial video on how to plug the charger into the shoe.  My husband and I did as they directed looking for possible tips on trouble shooting or how to resove any issues with the shoes.  To our dismay, there was no such topic on that video, all that is demonstrated was how to plug the shoes in to charge. We consider ourselves to be educated people and know how to connect a USB charger with a port.

I proceeded to follow up with another e-mail later that afternoon on the 30th advising we did as they suggested still the shoe was not working and that I would call their customer support area.  I called on Friday April 1st, spoke to a gentleman by the name of "Dave".  He advised it was an issue with the battery and that they would be sending out a replacement. It is now April 9th, we have no replacement battery. I have made numerous calls to the company which they do not answer.  The phone rings and rings, it doesnt matter what time you call either. I also wrote an additional e-mail, to no avail they have yet to respond.

I went to their facebook page only to notice others were having the same or similar issues.  Other customers shoes were defective and they too were given the runaround and not had thier complaints addressed.  I have filed a complaint with the NY Better Business Bureau as well s filed a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back.  I do  not see this company standing behind thier product or service.

Do yourself a favor, if you don't want your child or yourself disappointed with these subpar, low quality overseas peices of junk, do not consider ordering them through Hoverkicks.  I will research the next company that offers these types of light up shoes more throughly.

I hope this review was helpful.
