RUN RUN RUN!!!!! SCAM ALERT !!!! I purchased a house a little over a year ago with my wife, we were told how great a home warranty is and that you should always buy one, so we did as any new homeowner would.  The first year went by and there were no problems, so we renewed the warranty with the same coverage and of course the warranty went up by at-least $150 even though we never had a claim, but we renewed anyway hoping that one day when we needed the warranty it would come to good use.  Well that time finally came, and the water heater went, so I followed the procedure I called and HSA Home Warranty had somebody sent out.  In the meantime, I spoke to a claims representative and was told as long as its normal wear and tear everything would be covered except your $75 deductible, which I was happy with.  Then, I was told the job would cost a total of $840 and the warranty will cover the water heater which will cost $385. I asked why is it not covered fully???? The claims representative said to me "Well you need to install an expansion tank, and that isn't covered", so I ask well do I need this expansion tank, and of course I do need this because its code.  So, I can't replace my water heater that is leaking all over my basement floor and have no hot water unless I spend an extra $455 to replace everything....

bottom line is HSA Home Warranty scammed me I was never told that replacement of damaged items covered under warranty did not include the cost of meeting code, but you will need to meet code to replace. I spoke with a supervisor about my issue and was treated as a piece of garbage... We pay over $600 a year to have this coverage the covers basically nothing.  The icing on the cake is I can't even cancel my warranty until renewal because the contract is NON CANCELABLE..are you kidding me!!!!.....I was always told to be aware of Home Warranty companies but never thought HSA Home Warranty was that company because everything I was told painted a beautiful picture...well my best piece of advise is to RUN ...RUN far away from HSA Home Warranty they will just take your money and turn their back on you when you need them the most.  HSA HOME WARRANTY IS A HUGE SCAM RUN!!!!!!!
