Huntington bank charges $37.50 for each overdraft fee. It's hard to explain but I had enough money in my account to cover my charges that went through. But because I had "pending" items that were in the negative it resulted in there being overdraft fees.
There were 5 total overdraft fees and I couldn't do anything about it. I didn't even have a chance to put money in before the pending items went through.
There should only be fees if the pending items go through and you are already in the negative without counting the pending fees.
Everyone makes mistakes and they shoud give you a chance before they screw you over to cover your mistake.
On top of that, they charge you an additional $7 a day for being over!
It's just the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.

AUTHOR: Zach - (U.S.A.)

I had almost exact same thing happen to me as the OP. I checked my checking account online Monday night & I had 4 pending transactions. According to the online balance I should've had about $15 in my account after everything went through. Now $15 isn't alot but I had $200 (which would've been plenty to cover anything going through) being deposited on Thursday so I felt I'd be alright. I went out of town on Tueday & came back Wed morning & when I checked my email there was an email from Huntington Bank saying I had a special notice. When I looked at my account online, it showed that I had 4 overdraft fees & another on the way. Guess what? They were all for the pending transaction that i supposedly had enough money to cover. I can't tell if anything else went through cuz my statement looks exactly the same to me as it did on Monday night except for now I had a crapload of overdraft fees! Even if something else did, the pending transactions (that were supposedly safe) should've gone through first. Then I found out that the last $37.50 OD fee was for a stamp that cost me $1.25 at the post office. So basically, I had no warning by the bank & no time to get more money in there before they socked me with all these fees. Alltogether I ended up paying my bank $187.50. That is almost criminal & just plain wrong. Also, $37.50 for a $1.25 transaction is outrageous! I wrote the bank & asked them if they could at least remove the last fee becuz if they hadn't added all the other OD fees that one would've went thru ok. I also added that I've been a long time customer & have rarely ever had this happen. They declined my request. I told them that I may take my business elsewhere after their disappointing decison. The problem is, almost all these banks do this kind of crap now. There should definitely be a class action lawsuit over this. If there ever is, I will definitely take part.

This happened to me i had 3 items pending for several days and i had enough money in my account and then when i had a check come in it hard posted the same day while the others were pending and then they took the highest one first and overdrafted me by $9 and gave me 2 NSF fees and one of the amounts was for $2 and they charged me $37.50 for each. I too go to the bank in new era. I might add that if they would have taked the smallest one first i would have never had the fees.
