I understand that an agency that is hired to collect on past debt, has to do their job, and shame on us for spending beyond our wealth. But when you are unemployed, they do not believe this. "What excuses people come up with."

Even if you agree on a payment, if it is not to their satisfaction/minimum, they will continue to harass you on a daily basis, which I understand is meant to aggravate. I know they are the experts because they have been in the business for 70 years, but they also need to enforce their 350 agents to maintain professionalism in their pursit of reaching their goals.

When someone says they are unemployed, with all the technology IC Systems boasts, to track someone down, they can also have the technology to see the person is getting unemployment checks. And if I say I could pay $50, there is no negotiation, and what follows is a threat to calling your supervisor, which my response is go ahead... They are not going to call your supervisor, but why go there. Why treat people like they are idiots, and criminal because basically, I am out of work, and can not pay a bill, that I was paying while I was employed.

But one thing to remember is Ic System doesn't decide on what an acceptable minimum payment is these guidelines are set by the creditor that outsources the debt. If the payment you are offering is lower then that, this is usually based of of the amount you owe. For instance if you owe $5,000. a typical minimum payment would be $160. ect.. of you offer less then that we cant take it at all no matter what. The clients determine whether or not you will get called , everyday, every 3 days once a week ect. The collection agency simply follows the guidelines set by them.

Just because you are unemployed doesn't mean we can just stop calling. We have to continue to call until an acceptable arrangement is made. You always have the option to send a cease and desist letter in the mail, this will stop calls.
I understand how frustrating the process is but when you let ac account get that far past due you will end up at a collection agency.

As far as skip tracing technology, we normally find your phone number on your credit report. Its not that advanced. Every single phone number you report or have had is on their. We would have no way whatsoever to track down whether or not someone is employed. It would be illegal to investigate someones account to see if they are getting unemployment checks.

One other thing to remember is after your account leaves IC System with no arrangements being made and the account charges off you often end up an an attorneys office and they will get the debt paid no matter what they have to be it wage garnishment, liens judgements ect.. You may want to find out what you payment is, how short you are and find a way to make up the difference so this doesn't happen.
