My boyfriend and I received a call back in December to notify us that we have won a free trip to Vegas. Sounded too good to be true. The catch they said was that we jus that to go in for a presentation. Fine. So we made a pact that we would just go in for the presentation to get the free trip, but NOT purchase anything.

Of course, after the presentation there was a sales pitch that sounded really good. My boyfriend and I went back and forth in the office and thought of all the options, because we wanted to make sure we didn't get ourselves into any problems. Plus, they were asking for a lot of money upfront for a membership. After much talk, IDC offered us a short-term contract and told us that we could make monthly installments. We were still unsure about it and asked if we could come back, but they persuaded us not to. They said we could make a security deposit of $200 each and get full refund back in 10 days if we decide not to go with it. Deal.

We ended up deciding not to get the membership so we went in and signed the refund papers in January. The chq was to arrive in 2 weeks. Two weeks came and gone without any sign of our chqs. Received a letter saying that there would be a delay because the chq is in US funds from their headoffice based in the States. It would be another 2 weeks. Time passed and I received another letter saying that due to tough economic times that they were not able to pay until april 26, but that they were giving us a few certificates for free trips. But the thing was, there were no certificates with the letter and it didn't indicate how we could redeem them. Called and spoke to someone name Bruce who said they certificates were in the mail and ensured I would get my chqs on April 26. He didn't sound too convincing. Since, the certificates are never entirely free (service chg, taxes, etc) I didn't want to spend any more of my money unitil I got my refund.

It's May 30 and I realized I didn't get m chqs yet. We called the office- line disconneted. My boyfriend went to the office and the doors were locked. He waited around and ended up meeting some other people that have similiar encounters as us - but more money was lost.

We are going to take legal action. For those who are interested or considering on going to smal claims court, we are creating a Facebook page to connect with people who have experienced problems with IDC as well.
