Infinity Insurance Company Exessive Cancellation Fees Birmingham, Alabama
*Consumer Comment: RUN FAST from Infinity Insurance!
After cancelling my policy, I received a pro-rated bill. The bill included a $77 installment fee, a $30 cancellation fee, and a $30 collection fee. These fees are outside the normal premium fees for any prior billing cycle. The bill read, "If payment is not received in our office by March 29, 2011, we will place your account with an outside collection agency. We also reserve the right to place this outstanding debt on your credit bureau report and to notify the Division of Motor Vehicles in your State." I receive the bill on 17 March, 2011.

RUN FAST from Infinity Insurance!
AUTHOR: Steve - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Friday, March 18, 2011
In January of this year I was rear ended by a driver who had Infinity Insurance.
The driver had a valid policy in place, and a valid ID card to prove it.
I learned the hard way a long time ago to call the other driver's insurance right from the accident scene and get a claim#.
The damage to my cat was minor so it was not my top priority, and I waited as I just started a new work cycle and my work takes me out of town. I only work about 10 days a month average, so I figured I would have plenty of time after that work cycle was complete to handle the repairs.
In about 2 weeks, I go to put my car in the shop, and the bodyshop cannot get a repair authorization from that claim#. The Infinity adjuster tells the body shop that the claim was denied!
Nobody bothered telling me.
Then, when I call, nobody will give me any specifics, and dance around all kinds of excuses, like "privacy issues", coverage issues" etc.
Keeping in mind that most of these Infinity people work from home and use only cell phones.
You never get a real person when you call any of the listed "business" numbers. You always have to wait for someone to call you back.
Then I get this jerk on the line who is very rude, etc. I then tell him off and hang up on him.
I then sit down and bang out about a dozen letters, Department of Insurance Regulation, etc.
Now, after almost 2 months, this same jerk calls me back and says they have re-opened the claim and cleared coverage, yada yada yada.
Too late. I already got paid by my insurance.
After doing a little investigation, it appears that the standard operating procedure at Infinity is to delay and/or deny all claims.
They apparently do not do any "due diligence" when underwriting and issuing a policy until there is a claim on that policy. Then they go over your application with heavy scrutiny and cancel the policy for "material misrepresentation", etc.
If you have Infinity Insurance, you really are UNINSURED.
Run fast.
