Infomatika Publications ripoff Misleading selling practices, claiming renewal of service and verification of contact information CHAMPLAIN New York

My situation is similar, if not identical to the other complaints detailing fraudulent and misleading practices of Infomatika.

The telemarketer called to verify our company information and claimed they were simply "updating" our information for renewal purposes since we had used their services in the past year. The caller was very pushy and somehow later an invoice was sent to my company for $375 for unauthorized services!

I have since disputed this invoice with their representative and they claimed that it was too late to stop publication of our listing for this years directory. Hence, the bill was valid and would be turned over to "collection" if we refused to pay....followed by an abrupt hang up. I have researched further with the Better Business Bureau and learned that there were 592 complaints filed against this company within the past 36 months.

Clearly, something must be done to take action against their deceptive telemarketing practices. I urge everyone to file their complaints with the NY State Attorney's office and BBB to put an end to Infomatika.
