Insight Global is a straight scam. The company regularly posts fake jobs and asks for your references so that they can try and sell their services to your past employers.
Insight Global contacted me on two different occasions claiming that they were working with recruiting for a client. Immediately after they received the names and telephone numbers of my references they stopped returning my calls and sent the following email:
Good morning! I apologize for not returning your calls yesterday. It was a full day and I was out of the office for most of the day and I understand that is no excuse. Regarding the position, it is actually no longer open. They closed the position quickly because they decided to fill it internally. I will definitely keep you in mind for any future positions and again I apologize for my lack of response yesterday. I hope you have a great day.
Best Regards,
Robin Brozosky
Insight Global, Inc.
Recruiter
After receiving this email I contacted the client they named, and the company NEVER heard of Insight Global. If anyone from Insight Global contacts you do not give them any of your references or personal information. Take down the persons name and report them to your local District Attorney and the Better Business Bureau.

The first poster, Robin, is correct. That is the exact script the recruiter reads to you. I have been an IT professional for the past 10 years. I have since acquired additional education and credentials. I have valid experience at fortune 50 companies. They call. They allege they found YOUR resume in THEIR database (as if you put it there) then they insist a job exists and you should get on the suit and tie and meet with them. When you arrive at their location, it looks like the room from the movie Boiler Room where the company fled the scene because the feds were on their way. The recruiter goes through the motions, nods at whatever you say, asks NO interrogative questions, and then asks for your references. The description of the job they use to lure you in gets no more detailed during the process. They cannot name the hiring manager from the company. As soon as you hand them a sheet with references they stand up. (this is called body language, it convinces you your time is done). They reach to shake your hand and tell you they will pass your info to their account manager(as if such a person exists). The next week, you call to follow up and they say exactly what the original poster Robin said. Position closed. This happened to me 4 times before I realized it. Now I screen all my calls. When they call I don't return it and my email has a filter to run them straight to "trash".
I have done network security at fortune 50 (not 100 or 500, 50) companies. I have received honors and bonuses in these companies. I am not saying so to brag so much as to indicate, if someone were a qualified candidate, I would be one.

I am very familiar with this situation as I have reviewed it personally. We offered you the opportunity to interview for a position. Your interview was set with our client. You later requested a higher pay rate and for us to pay for your parking in the city. As explained at the time, this was not possible. Since you were unwilling to work at the original agreed upon rate, we actually had to call the client and cancel your interview. This put us in bad position with the client, and we had to re-recruit a new candidate.
Your claim that this is a fake job is completely false. We have people working at this client currently. Just because you called this large firm and asked a random person who asnswered the phone if they heard of us, does not mean the position is fake. Your assumptions are competely wrong. Call them again and ask around. You will find out very quickly that this was not a fake position and that Insight Global is a current vendor.
We have called you several times to address your concerns, but you have returned any of our calls.
I welcome your call if you would like to have a professional conversation about your experience.
Thank you.
