This company preys on those individuals that are in a position when they need help and desperate.  I applied for a small installment loan for bad credit as I needed to consolidate some bills into one payment so that I could get a handle on a situation caused by having a disabled child and out of control medical bills.  I received an email that indicated my loan application had been successfully approved for $3,000 to $10,000 by a person by the name of Steve Smith.  I also received a  phone call from a man with an ndian accent that used the name Daniel, who indicated that I had been approved for a loan from $2,000 to $10,000.

He knew my name, my phone number, my social security number and all the other information I had put in the application.  I advised him that I had to go back and check where I had applied and could I call him back and yes, I had use their site.  I called him back and said I would take the loan.  He then put me on hold advising me he had to speak with his credit department.  He then came back on the line and started discussing my bad credit score - yes I agreed and that is why I applied on their site as it was recommended that individuals with bad, poor or no credit.

He indicated that my interest rate would be a flat 10% at $150.00 a month.  He asked what date I would like my first payment to be taken and we agreed to the last Friday of that month and then each month afterwards. He put me on hold while he completed information on his side.  He then came back that he had been advised that I needed to go to Walgreens or CVS and obtain  Vanilla pre-paid card for $150.00 - it appeared to be a good faith payment to cover my first payment so that we could move forward.  When this card was sold out, he advissd that I purchase a Green Dot Money Pak Card.

I gave hm the numbers on the card and he checked it and took the money.  Once it was done, he advised me that all was good and we ould move forward.  He released the money to be applied into my checking account in the amount of $2,150.00.  This was the $2,000 I was approved for and the $150.00 I sent him.  I had proved I was trustworthy and they were giving it back.  Danial advised me that I would see it in my account within 2hours - same day deposit.  I checked after 2 hours and there was nothing in my account.  I called Daniel back to see when I would see the transfer and he advised me that he tried to call me back at my office, but I must have left for the day and he was glad I called back.

His credit department had put my loan on hold until I call them and he gave me the phone number 904-402-9789.  I called this  number and got another young man with an Indian accent who advised me that I needed to pay another $200.00 so that they could correct my credit by 3 points and release my loan to the bank.  I advised him that I had already been approved and had no intentions of paying anything else to them and that they can cancel the loan and send me my $150.00 back.  He specifically told me that they do not refund any money.

I asked for a manager and in call center fashion, I was told that the manager wouldbe tomorrow and I should call back then.  I called back the following day and got another man with an Indian accent who calle himself Mike Johnson.  I started to explain why I confused by this situation and I was told I should be quiet as I was rude.  They had my money and I was being rude.  He then told me to ask my boss, my freinds, my husband, my boyfriend for the $200 so they can correct my credit.  When I refused he asked me told me I should have my daughter call her boyfreind for the money as all young girls have boyfreinds.

I told him at that point that legally he cannot say these things to me.  He told me to get the money and he will send the loan.  I told him I want to cancel the loan and just to send me my $150.00 back and he then told me he did not want to talk to me anymore andI should call the first person I spoke with on Monday (Daniel).  I have had to put a notice on my account that they cannot withdraw from my account. I made the error in allowing his process to start; however, this organization preys on those that are desperate and I was desperate.

In my own humble opinion from past experince, a low credit score isn't always as cut and dry as not paying on time or not paying at all.  To say such a harsh thing is an insult.

SCAM BUT NOT BY INSTALOAN

AUTHOR: ALIAS1969 - ()

POSTED: Thursday, April 17, 2014

This was not INSTALOAN and yes you got ripped off. First no one pays money to receive money, this is a classic scam. Instaloan might have a call center rep of Indian descent but you will get a pre appoval, and then you will be reffered to the closest physical store to you. No transactiuon will be completed over the phone. This Company is for people with less than perfect credit, but reports to the credit bureau, so you can actually build your credit by making on time payments. The interest is higher than conventional lending institutions, but these are the perils of not monitoring your own credit or not paying your bills(on time, or never).
