1. Ive applied via my employer, SA Air Force to study at state expense towards my management certificate and management diploma. My studies ws approved and I was instructed to submit an invoice for the course fees which will be used to authorised payment of the studies. Ive contacted Intec College and requested this document which is dated 3 March 2009. I specifically asked for seperated invoices in both programmes as I first have to finish the certificate and then the diploma.
2. When I received the invoice it was made out with FULL PROGRAMME IN MANAGEMENT. Ive submitted the invoice to my employer and payment was done on 26 Jan 2010 for the amount of R 13 611.00 as well as R 5320.00 on 29 Jan 2010 for both programmes of which I off course have to do the certificate before I can register and start with the diploma. Ive supplied the college with my registration form for the certificate as well as the payment for both programmes.
3.Ive again requested an invoice dated 26 Jan 2010 for the payment of my exam fees for both programmes. Ive completed 5 subjects and failed 2 subjects in the certificate and in order for me to proceed to the diploma, I will have to rewrite the failed subjects which I do not intend to do as Ive come to the conclusion that:
a. Intec College examiners are incompetent with the drafting of exam papers.
b. Some questions are asked that is not even in the module.
c. You keep on rewriting and paying for rewrites and never although you
prepare yourself for 5-6 months before the time and know your work well.
d. Every rewrite cost money and I do not have the funds to keep on rewriting.
4. In March 2011 I was informed to start a promotional course in order for me to proceed in my career. The course was from March 2011 until July 2011 for a period of 5 months. Just before the course Ive asked for an extention from Intec College to November 2011 exam due to the intensity of the promotional course and the fact that my studies and the course wouldve clashed. My time was very limited after the course and thus the reason for failing 2 subjects.
5. In November 2011 just before my exam I was informed to proceed with the promotional course in January 2012 for a period of 3 months. Ive completed the exams that was extended and Ive decided to cancel my management diploma and not rewrite the exams if I fail any. Ive contacted Intec College immediately and informed them about my decision and to enquire what the procedure will be for the cancellation of my studies and the paying back of the money that was paid towards my diploma by my employer. Me Lynette Booysen assisted me from the finance department and informed me that I should write a letter to the Credit Operations Team at Intec College with my reason, give proof of payment of money that was paid and a bank statement. My request will then be dealt with and my money will be paid back.
6. Since Ive submitted the required documentation on 9 November 2011, Intec College took a run around me and answered my emails with all sorts of excuses and redicilous request in order to pay back the money. Some of the reason is:
a. My employer is the payer and thus the money cannot be paid into my bank
account but only the employer. My employer is a state department (SA Air Force)
and I am not concerned with their banking, bank account and or bank statements.
b. I have to submit a letter of authority from my employer with a logo of the
department that read that my employer give me permission to received the
money into my bank account. Ive asked this letter but was told that they
will not be able to give me the letter but banking details of the SA Air Force.
7. Ive tried numerious times to contact Me Lynette Booysen and even send faxes but she have millions of reasons and excuses to talk to me. I have left messages for her to contact me but I get ignored and when I send emails it either get deleted, not read or not answered.
8. Ive submitted all the documents with my employers bank details again on 1 March 2012 to Intec College and indicated that my employer want their money as soon as possible and if not they will take the matter further. In the last email from Intec College dated 8 March 2012 it was indicated by Mr Wesley Gentry that my request was again send to the Credit Operations Team and that the process of refund will be followed up. Ive responded to email and indicated that it is fine but my employer are still proceeding with action.
9. Just to make it clear, I have NOT YET registered or receive studies material for the management diploma. The payment that was made towards my management diploma course and exam fees have to be paid back as it is a credit on my account. This is my employers money and do not belong to Intec College and they do not have the right to keep it back. You cant take money for service rendered as no service was rendered due to me not yet registered for the diploma programme. I have to pay back the fees to my employer and if I do not pay it back, the money will be deducted from my salary.
10. Please assist me in this matter as I do not succeed in getting my money back. I will submit all the relevant documents, emails, invoices and proof of payments. Whatever it takes, I will be willing to assist in even if it means to take legal action.
