Itelliflix is an online DVD movie rental company. According to Itelliflix they promise a 1-2 day delivery of the movies you select. They state they have more distribution centers than any other online company. The state you will be happier with their service than that of any other company. They also offered a special SuperPass Deal if you pay for one years membership. According to their website that deal was ending the 23rd, which is when I signed up. By signing up for the SuperPass you saved over $100 off the regular yearly price of a membership. Great deal right?

The way the process works is you go online and browse the movies and put them in your queue. And then you organize those in the order in which you would like to receive them. Their website suggested putting ten movies in the queue. And from the day you put those in the queue you should receive your movie 3 at a time in my case within 1-2 days. Here is where the problem begins.

It took four days for them to ship my first selection, which happened to be way down on my queue list. That would suggest everyone above that was out of stock. It then took an additional four days to receive it. That's far from the 1-2 days they promise. Another problem is the movie came from Massachusetts and I live in Washington. When I was a member of a competator, they had distribution centers in Washington and Oregon.

When I received the movie, the disc was so scratched you couldn't even see your reflection in the disc. Needless to say it wouldn't play in the DVD player. In the meantime it had been eight days since I placed the movies in my queue and they still had not shipped another. I then went to their website to find a contact phone number, but according to them they do not have phone service to keep costs down. I sent an email, which promised a 2-3 day response, which took 7 days to receive.

I then started doing some research on the company. I first checked with the Better Business Bureau. Itelliflix has a terrible record with the BBB, multiple complaints with no resolutions. I also checked with a reputable online consumer review website. All the reviews were poor, and stated the company was fraudulent, with comments such as poor shipping times, poor movie quality and no customer service. They also continue to extend the SuperPass deal to entice people to pay for a full year's membership. They make false claims regarding their services and distribution abilities. I would challenge them to show they have more distribution centers than the competition. They claim to be the largest DVD rental company, but yet they hand apply stamps on their envelopes. Any company that does mass mailings would have metered mail.

In short, I paid for a year's subscription which promised movies to my door in 1-2 days. It took eight days to receive my first, when I should have gotten three at a time. The one movie I did receive was too damaged to watch. There is no customer service phone number to call and complain, therefore I sent an email with my concerns, but would always receive the same replies (a canned answer.) They eventually promised a refund, but I never received it. When I emailed asking about it I would receive the exact same response from different people. I eventually took my complaint to my credit card and had them dispute the charge.

I have investigated fraud claims in the past in my line of work. Its in my best opinion this company makes many fraudulent claims regarding their services. They exhibit every sign of a fraudulent company, unfortunately I fell victim to what appeared to be a legitimate business. Itelliflix is far from that.
