I ordered a single bottle of Focus for a single, one-time shipping charge of $4.99.  The online offer stated that I would have a 14-day trial period to actually try the product before determining whether to keep it or return it.

No confirmation email arrived. No bottle was ever received.  No further communication about the product was received.  I did not receive the product to try it. Nevertheless, my MC was charged for the full price of this product many weeks later.

When I immediately phoned to discuss this with a non-English speaking customer-service representative at a call center located who-knows-where, I requested a physical mailing address so that I could contact the company in writing. The representative refused to provide that to me.

I was basically told it was my own tough luck, that I should have cancelled my membership within the 14 days.

How can one cancel a membership that did not exist, particularly without any sort of paperwork, confirmation, proof of receipt, tangible product or informed opinion about a product?

I am guilty of momentary gullability, even considering an internet offer of this nature.  However, this unethical scam foisted upon consumers who trust fraudulent advertising has to be addressed.  I am filing a claim of theft by deception and I encourage all consumers to stay far away from this "company" and its dishonest practices.
