James Thomas Sub-Leased a Prius 3 - When Lease Term Ended Would Not Return Deposit Valencia California

In June 2010 I entered into a sub-lease agreement with James Thomas. He no longer wanted the 2010 Prius 3 he was driving and was looking to get out from under the lease agreement he had signed with Toyota. For the next three years I made all of the monthly payments on time directly to Toyota. The lease was up at the end of March 2013 and James Thomas told me that he would co-sign if I wanted to purchase the Prius at that time. Then he suddenly changed his mind and started lying to me about everything. The vehicle was returned to Toyota well within the parameters of the lease terms and under the allowed mileage of 30,000 miles. At that point, Dr. T (James Thomas) who had since moved to Brazil, changed his email address on me and neither phone number I have for him works - both numbers are Houson area code Magic-Jack numbers. He is holding a $600.00 security deposit which, he has made pretty clear, he has no intention of giving back to me.
