The Ishowcase coming up in SF hardrock cafe, I was having a hard time deciding to do this I'm not. The $500 pre sale is not different than ripping bands off too play at a regular venue. It is the job of the promoter to promote the show and real bands get a guarantee in there rider to even show up.  $20 a ticket is ludacris especially in this market of recession with amateur talent trying to go pro.

For a couple too attend and support and act is $40. You are not guaranteed a full 20min set, if someone sells more,  they get more time. I have been to a legit showcase before, two different ones. The first being a showcase put on by Management inviting A &R out to see the band perform, there was no need for high price tickets sales, just arranging for a "showcase night" and real A&R showed up..."not the the mailboy who works at the label shows up, so technically someone from warner bros showed up, even if it's just the mailboy"

At the second event, it was said right on the flyer who was in attendance from these records labels, it had a conference portion associated with it, so you had to pay registration fee that was under $200.  Your registration got you to be in a live showcase at a club,  a private showcase one on one with the reps, a vip party, networking, and a panel to learn the industry.

Everyone who was on the flyer was in attendance as promised, it was a phenomenal experience. If King Ryan was smart, he would charge a registration fee between $100-$200 that is doable and attractive. No frikin presale, let the band concentrate on music and bringing there A game. If they make it there is going to be an entire team that in promotion that will handle getting people to their show.  Allow the performers to have a guest list and invite their people out and limit the guest list per band. People would not feel this is a scam, tell the bands straight up who is going to be in attendance from Warner Bros.  Allow the bands to see who it is.

Not play games with people. When the showcase I went to said Kevin Lyman is going to be there, I contacted Kevin and he confirmed Yesss 100% I am there.   My band from our performance was hand picked to play warp tour. I think King RYAN is def not the real deal. He has no page that you can see what happen in previous showcases to other acts, if in fact anyone got signed, management, nothing.  With the showcase i went too, you where able to got back and see the deals that where made right on the website and contact those performers and get confirmed yess,  that's what we got.  I wish these snakes would stop hustling the hard working bands that just want a real shot and a real chance.. KING RYAN is a sham stay away!!!
