Recently bought a used car from Jerry Loze at Kings Dogde.

2 days in: Leak in Radiator, replaced, Steering column had to be lubed.

Over the next 6 months: Replaced EGR Valve, Replaced Seat Heater, Replaced Tire Rod, Replaced Control Arm, Replaced Rear Window Regulator, Replaced lights in console, Transmission Slipped (could not duplicate), Interoir Panels came loose, am told it requires new brakes, rotors, and tires.

Clearly no due diligence was done before the dealer decided to put this car up for sale. Jerry Loze, in retrospect, was pushy and I fully believe he knew this car was a lemon and was only concered in improving his numbers, no matter the consequences for the customer.

Getting rid of the junker and will never, ever buy another car there nor recommend this dealership to anyone else.

Have purchased a car at Kings Mazda that was fine (although that was a new car), and the service department at Kings Dodge was quick, professional and (due to the numerous problems, some repetative) did not charge me the deductable on the warrenty work.

Stay away from King's Dodge Used Cars and Jerry Loze!

Great cars from Jerry Loze

AUTHOR: Shirley - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, January 20, 2013

I bought my first used car from Jerry almost 20 years ago.  My husband bought a used car from him and my daughter bought a used van from Jerry over the years.  I bought another car from Jerry about eight years ago and two months ago bought my third car from him, the fifth in our family.  My brother and I are thinking about buying another used van from Jerry for my daughter.  I've found him to be honest and knowledgeable and my family have all been happy with the well maintained used cars we have bought from him.  The few times we've needed service other than oil changes, Kings has been excellent.  And of course, when you buy from Kings, you get free oil changes for the life of the car.

and so on...

First, I was charged the full deductable for my last visit.

Second, I declined spending $1700 on brakes and tires and rotors because a: could get that done cheaper anywhere else  and b: at that point there was NO WAY I was keeping that car.

It's gone now, and I truly hope no one buys it and they turn it into scrap.

Respond if you want, but I'm through talking about it.

what else could anyone do?

AUTHOR: Mark pittman - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 07, 2010

This car was only 4 years old when he purchased it. We had it inspected in our shop and spent about $1000 fixing all we found. We offered the car for sale with a 90 days or 3,000 mile 50/50 warranty, meaning if a covered component should fail, the customer would pay half of the cost to fix it in our shop. The car was out of the factory full coverage by that time. We also printed "no work promised" on the final buyer's order.

The customer later bought a Chrysler Service Contract from us offering way more coverage. He came back within just a few days, with significant problems, like a radiator leak and non working headlamps. Either they were missed by our inspection and the customers inspection or it was horribly bad luck. In any event, we fixed all problems at our cost and provided a rental car. These could not be claimed under the service contract as they happened so soon, they would be deemed a pre-existing condition.

He came back 3 months later, had some maintenance done, had a couple of repairs done at no charge and had a rental provided.

He came back another month later after the engine or transmission acted up and we could not duplicate or find anything wrong. A rental car was provided.

His last visit was in June and we fixed everything he mentioned at no-charge and we provided a rental car.

He still complains of a slight tire vibration and an occasional brake squeal but declined paying to fix either at this point.

Four visits in 6 months is excessive. We did thoroughly inspect the car before we offered it for sale. We fixed eveything he found when he pointed it out.

All of our salespeople are trying to sell a car and make a living, but they have no leverage to make someone buy other than being nice and offering an attractive deal. Pushy never worked and doesn't work now. It was ridiculous of this person to attact our salesperson. We have over 100 used cars available at all times and sell about 80 per month. The most a salesperson might reasonably know is what the Carfax shows and what work we did during our inspection. Jerry never even knew the customer was having problems, nor did I. I can understand that the customer blames the dealership for missing these issues but blaming the salesperson is wrong.

I am sorry for your problems Mr. Customer and wish we would have done better.

Car had a clean Carfax, supposedly undergoes 50pt inspection (including breaks and rotors which are to be at at least 50% life left), did the test drive, gave a good look over, yadda yadda yadda.

No, I didn't get under the hood and start pulling parts out to inspect them.

The reason I put the part in about the warranty coverage is that I wouldn't want people to avoid their service department because I bought a junker. I have a feeling that they really don't have the time to fully inspect their used cars because each time I've had to take it in, well, I've never seen a service shop so busy. But they appear to try their best to fix a problem (I'm thinking they're used to this). God forbid someone doesn't buy the extended warrenty!

Bottom line, I shouldn't have bought this car, and they shouldn't have even had it on the lot. (There is a certain level of resonable expectation of mechanical soundness and saftey when buying a car, espcially from a large "5 star" dealer.) The service department won't cover brakes and rotors (none of them do, these are never covered under waranty) and I know the tires are fine.

Live and Learn. All I'm saying is, if you're shopping for a used car at Kings Dodge, be extra wary (can't say anything about the used cars on the other Kings lots).

Due Diligence?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 06, 2010

Where was your due diligence.  Did you have it checked out by anyone before you bought it.  Even with just the tires, if they were within 6 months of needing to be replaced either a)You should have noticed they were obviously worn, or b)You drive a lot of miles.  If it is b) that could also explain the other wear parts such as the brakes.

You didn't say how old the car was, how many miles were on it(and how many miles have you put on it), and how much you paid.  Because some of those items, especially around 6 months, could be quite normal.  But what is really confusing is your last comment.  It appears that there was a warranty on this car and they fixed all of this without even charging you the deductible.  If that is the case it seems very far from a RipOff..especially if they are covering things such as the Brakes and Tires.
