LADY OF AMERICA - NATIONAL FITNESS SAYS WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR UNTIL YOU ARE UNDER CONTRACT, RIPOFF FENTON Missouri

I signed a 3 year contract with Lady of America. Close to the end of my contract I decided I wanted to cancel my credit card but decided to wait till the end of August since that was the end of my contract and the last month my payment should be deducted.

In the middle of october I received a call at work from National Fitness saying I owed $84 and it was going to collections in two weeks if I didnt pay. I hung up the phone and called my LOA since I knew the people there and felt confident that they would be able to fix the mix up.

Well there was no mix up, and they didn't want to help me with anything except signing another contract. Come to find out that "3 YEAR contract" doesnt necessarily mean "3 YEAR contract" they add there little box at the bottom with their small print of legal mumbo jumbo that basically says "you wont see this box or understand what it is for so I will "automatically renew" you membership and keep deducting monthly."

Well I did sign a contract but come on a three year contract should mean THREE YEAR CONTRACT. The owner of the gym answered all my questions about "freezing" and canceling or if I move. I tried to be cautious and read everything I could understand on the contract and I asked lots of questions but conveniently this wasn't mentioned.

I hate that the gym I went to for three years ended up being shady scammers. I wont ever sign a contract again I will always just assume that there is small print somewhere that says there are leapholes and they will find a way to scam me for money.
