Lease Finance Group Fraudulent Sales Tactics Chicago Illinois

If sales agents, such as Wholesale Merchant Services (WMS), representing Lease Finance Group (LFG) made false or misleading statements in order to convince you sign a credit card terminal lease contract with LFG, that is legally known as fraud and the contract is void.

LFG will tell you that they have no responsibility for statements made by WMS. However, since they pay WMS a commission for each lease contract, the ARE responsible.

The Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Bureau is able to help you. If the false statements made by WMS are in writing, you have a strong case. Go to www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov and download a complaint form. Provide a clear description of your situation on separate pages, including copies of anything that documents false or misleading statements.

The Attorney General's office will contact LFG and ask for an explanation. In my case, LFG released me from any additional lease payments and removed negative credit references.

If you have made lease payments, stop now, and return the equipment to LFG by UPS or another means that will give proof of delivery. You can file a small claims court action in the county where you live to collect the payments, compensation for any telephone harassment from LFG, and the cost of doing the legal research and filing of papers. You can make the total amount equal to the entire amount of the lease.

LFG will not answer the small claims court summons, and you will awarded a judgment for the full amount of your claim. This judgment will not get you any money, but will add validity to your claim. You can request a transcript of judgment to be filed in the Cook County (Chicago) small claims court, which will place a lien on LFG assets and show them that you are not to be taken lightly.

Remember that LFG and WMS are engaging in fraudulent business practices, which is illegal!
