Lease Finance Group stated they would provide leasing equipment as well as a web site to enhance our advertising on line. The web site was to be ready and on line within 7 business days. Needless to say it took over 30 days. When we were told it was available our internet provider informed us that because of spamming problems with this company we could not access the site. We had no alternative but to cancel the lease. They told us that we could cancel the web site, but we had to use their leasing equipment, however, we could not use the equipment due to a mixup on their part. We tried many times to speak with customer service to rectify the situation, but to no avail. Customer service would keep us on hold for 40 minutes at at time, transfering us from one department to another, yet never speaking to anyone, or when we did succeed int speaking with the customer service representative the person would be rude and offensive and hang up on us. It truly was a horrible situation. We then stopped payment after 1 year of no services. Lease Finance Group then reported us to the credit bureau ruining our excellent credit. We were finally forced to make payment to end this horrendous situation. Once paid, Lease Finance Group still reports that we have not paid that debt, which was paid in August of 2003. We have been trying for close to a year to straighten this problem out. That is when I found your web site.
Again, thank you for all the information, and we will actively pursue this company and it's policy of falsely stating services, which they never deliver.

Thanks... That makes things a little more clear

That makes things a little more clear. This lawyer that you contact represented you or the leasing company? If he represented the leasing company, it sounded like he was misleading you. If he was your attorney, it sounded like he wasn't doing much on your behalf. It has been my experience that sometimes large corporations lack sufficient oversight of their employees, so you need to get their attention with litigation. You might need to contact our own attorney and do the same or considering a small claims lawsuit if the claim is small enough.
I'll give you a recent experience of my own. Earlier this year, I made hotel reservations throught a well known web site travel website. There was a third-party company that claims I set up a payment plan for the hotel room even though I had given my credit card to the hotel. I disputed the charged in writing and told them not to contat me. I also told them verbaly to stop calling me.
The straw the broke the camel's back was when the called me at 8:15 a.m. on Mother's Day. I sent them a check for what they say I owed and promptly filed a lawsuit in small claims court. My hotel bill was $300. They paid me $1000 to settle the claim.

Carl,
I am sorry that the complaint was not as explicit as it could have been. I was limited to the amount of words and just wanted to convey the basic problem. We had leased merchant card equipment: when Lease Finance was contacted about the Web site problem, they canceled our leasing equipment, not the Web site. There is where our huge problem started.
We corresponded for about a year with Lease Finance and then it was advised, through our bank, that we could stop payment to Lease Finance, which we did. We also contacted a lawyer, we gave all pertinent information to him, contacted him many times as to what status our account held. He eventually told us there was nothing he could do except send a letter to the company. That ended up in a deadend.
We have contacted the lawyer to return our leasing contract etc, so we could pursue this further. We are still waiting. I also contacted the Attourney General's office. They also told us there is nothing we could do because we are a small business. I hope this clarifies your questions. Again, I was limited in the amount of space to explain the problem.
Thanks for your concern,

Confusing story...

Maybe you could post some more specific details of your problem. I get the part about not being able to used the web site and it sounds they took care of that issue. It is a little unclear what type of equipment you were leasing and why it didn't work.
What steps did you take? Did you put anything i writing? Do you try to have the equipment repaired? Was it capable of being repaired? How important was the equipment to your business? Did you really pay for a whole year for equipmment that didn't work? If it didn't work, why didn't your hire a lawyer right away or sue them in small claims?
