Purchased a supposed "5 Star Rated” $3000 French Door LG Refridgerator 1-1/2 years ago. It died 3 weeks ago !!! I checked online and to my surprise the internet is literally flooded with complaints about the very same thing!! LG refrigerators dying after only 1 or 1-1/2 years!

My refrigerator now shows online that it only has at best a 2 star rating and there are numerous class action lawsuits filed against LG because of these refrigerator failures. Needless to say we lost all our food. I contacted LG to have it repaired. The repairman arrived 2 days later after a new compressor and dryer line and filter was delivered via FedEx.

The technician shared with me that all LG inverter compressors have a flaw involving a spring that fails. Upon researching the model number of the new compressor he was installing it turns out it is a compressor made for Whirlpool and Kenmore refrigerators! So LG is replacing their crappy compressors with a Whirlpool compressor !!

When he was done , the tech told us that the Refridgerator would need 24-48 hours to start cooling and maybe 72hrs to start making ice! Well, days went by and NOTHING! The unit was not properly cooling at all and we lost food yet again!!!

They took 3 more days to send out another Tech who had not been informed of anything and had no idea that all major components had already been replaced and that a tech had already been there. He actually arrived with yet another compressor and components.

Once he realized everything had already had been done and that the unit was still not working he asked to take a picture of our purchase receipt from BestBuy showing our $3000 purchase price to submit to corporate fit a 5 working day "review”. Well , that was last Tuesday and today is Thursday of the following week and not a single word from LG.

Meanwhile I’ve lost my food twice, I’ve missed 2 days of work and STILL DONT HAVE A WORKING FRIDGE!!! When you contact the LG customer service number for the "U.S.” you get a call center in India with people that are wonderfully trained to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO BE OF HELP or give one single straight clear answer.

They just read the same pre prepared scripts over and over again. Today’s call informed me that it would now take 7 to 10 business days to get me a reply !!!! Not a solution , just a reply!! MEANWHILE, I STILL DONT HAVE A FRIDGE!!!

At this point am very seriously considering reaching out to the local media to inform the public of the huge problem that LG is having with their refrigerators worldwide and how they do not address it in a timely fashion at all nor do they provide anything that even remotely resembles true customer service.

I am also seriously considering joining one of the many ongoing class action lawsuits against LG that you can easily Google. It is amazing the millions of dollars that these huge companies spend in advertising when the best advertising is a HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!

Have you ever seen a tv commercial for Ferrari? No you haven’t ... you know why? BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE TO!! STAY AWAY FROM LG !!! I will keep you posted .

 So I called that number they posted for me to call on their Canned Reply and after being placed on hold for 1/2 hr and found myself in India again .... they continue to say that their only solution is to keep sending more and more technicians to my home after they Had already sent 2 consecutive " PROFESSIONALS” I explained to them over and over again that 2 technicians had already been sent and did not repair it. So are you ready ?.... HE THEN SAID HE WANTED TO GIVE ME A MAILING ADDRESS SO THAT I COULD WRITE A LETTER !!!!! YES YOU HEARD ME RIGHT !! THEIR SOLUTION IS THAT I WRITE A LETTER!!! MAYBE I SHOULD JUST PUT THAT LETTER IN A BOTTLE AND CAST IT INTO THE OCEAN!! I ACTUALLY MIGHT GET BETTER RESULTS !!! They claim that now because I won’t allow them to send a 3rd and 4th technician to my home turning it into their personal diagnostics lab and causing me to lose 2 more days of work it is somehow my fault. STAY AWAY FROM LG REFRIGERATORS!!! THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CONSUMERS .

 LG has my number and my email and has sent technicians to my home TWICE!! THEY DO NOTHING MORE THAN LIE AND WASTE YOUR VALUABLE TIME !!! After replacing EVERY major component and using my home as their own personal EXPERIMENTAL WORKSHOP their only "SOLUTION " is to keep sending Technicians. They took a picture of my receipt for this $3000 piece of garbage . And all they want to do is keep wasting my families time and money. We have lost our food twice, I have lost 2 days of work. THIS COMPANY IS DOWNRIGHT INCOMPETENT AND TOTAL GARBAGE AND DO NOT STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCTS AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AT ALL.

 So the second LG tech took a picture of our receipt on 11/6/2018 and submitted it to Corporate to review and make a decision I guess as to whether LG "feels” that after we paid $3000 if we deserve to have a working refrigerator. Today is Tuesday 11/20/2018 And not one single phone call from anyone at LG or their "Service Dept” .

I reached out to them today and they had the nerve to act like this was all need to them that they had sent 2 technicians to my home and replaced every major component and that my fridge still doesn’t work and that the second technician took pictures and submitted a report. You would think that with all the egg that they now have on their faces they would want to expedite getting my wife and I a working Fridge or a refund . BUT NO ! They said that they wanted to send out a Third technician tomorrow to do "diagnostics” And then a 4th one on the 26th to " Maybe " Repair it. So that will put us at a month and a half, 4 technicians, 4 days of lost wages from my job and losing all my food twice.

Is everyone understanding LG’s game? WEAR DOWN THE CUSTOMER UNTIL THEY JUST GIVE UP AND GO AWAY. THEY STOLE MY $3000 and have been laughing and spitting in my families face for a month now. THEY HAVE A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THEIR REFRIGERATOR COMPRESSORS AND THEY ARE FAILING AFTER 1 to 1-1/2 YEARS !!!

STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM LG REFRIGERATORS!!! BEST BUY , WAKE UP AND STOP SELLING LG REFRIGERATORS !!! PROTECT YOUR CUSTOMERS FROM THIS NIGHTMARE!!!
