I susbscribe online to RealAge which regularly has input from two doctors often seen on Oprah Winfrey's show. Everybody trusts Oprah's show, right? In this case her show was not promoting the particular product, Colon Cleanse, manufactured by Life Fit Labs but the advertising was so seamless from the article that I took a chance on it.

The deal was I would get a free trial bottle for 15 days and pay only shipping charges. When the package arrived I read the directions on the bottle and took two of the tablets before bedtime. I didn't feel very well the next morning and looking in my waste basket for the mailing package to find an address. What I found tucked down in the package was a statement for $69.98 and a note that I would received a new bottle every 30 days at $69.98 pluse postage of $4.95.

I telephoned their customer service and spoke with Tom (he would only give me his employee number 2848, and not his last name). Tom said I had agreed to this online. I did not agree or I never would have ventured into the purchase.

He said I could not return the bottle since it had been opened and that I had been given a 15-day trial period. What? A 15-day trial period when one is not allowed to try the product?

The upshot so far is that I have written to their customer service requesting that no additional bottles be sent, that $4.95 shipping charge has appeared on my credit card statement, as agreed, and that I thank them for closing this account. If they bill me in April for the $69.98 I will file a dispute with my credit card company.

If that does not settle the problem I will be happy for whatever help you offer through your service. If there is a charge for this service I would like to be apprised of that now rather than later. Many thanks.
