This complaint is regarding the company Lifestyle Lift. I went into their office in Tampa for my FREE consultation for a mini face lift. They explained
all the procedures to me and told me that I would have to put a 500.00 deposit down to hold my spot for the procedure.

They never told me or pointed out that they gave clients 7 days to cancel in order to get their deposit back. Nothing I signed says, "Legal Contract" . The sheet of paper they give you that they say is a legal binding contract has hand written information filled in, my name, the procedures I wanted checked off, a procedure date of 03/29/2007 and the consulting doctors name. Then it has a list that says Contract amount with 6000.00 hand written in, under that is amount of deposit 500 written in, it has to the right of the amount, cash, check, visa and so on but non of them were circled or checked to indicate how anything was paid.

The next thing is deposit date, filled in 02/21 then under that the form has Balance Due Paid written in is 5500 and under that Balance paid/processed with a blank & date with a blank

Under all that there is a short paragraph that states that I consent for the Lifestyle lift physican to do my procedure on and the date is filled in. Then after a space there are 2 lines that says, I understand and agree that I have a right to a full return of my deposit if I cancel my procedure within one week of the date below and the date below is the date beside where I signed to agree to the procedure.

They also gave me a few other papers to sign but no where else in any of their other forms or flyers or in their office do let point out you have 7 days to cancel and get your deposit back.

I was told by Melissa in Tampa that a consumer has 3 days to cancel an agreement, which she is mistaken, it has nothing to do with this situation. But she is quoting the law as if she knows it. Then I spoke to Michele also in Tampa, she wanted to reschedule my procedure, she said we can't return your deposit but you have up to a year to have your procedure done. I have up to a year to use my deposit if I wasn't having medical problems and those medical problems weren't causing financial problems, but this filthy rich company can't return my deposit which was hard earned money, because why? They need it to pay salaries, rent, electric, or food maybe? I just don't get it, I would never have thought that this was not a reputable company.

I would like to know what legal right they have to keep my 500 deposit. I thought that if there was a specific cancellation rule, that had to explain it to you verbally making sure you understand completely and have it written on a separate form that you sign and initial that it was explained to you.

I just don't understand how companies can rip people off like this and why they would take advantage of people that are trusting them in good faith. If I would have know I only had 7 days to get my deposit back or to change my mind, I would not have paid the deposit, but then they basically tell you that you cannot book any other appointments without paying it.Even my next appt date, the consultation with doctor was on 03/14/2007 which is after the 7 days.
