Do you think dressers ought to hold up the clothes you put in them? Well, Linders doesn't seem to care if the dresser bottoms can hold your clothes up or not. They wont' stand behind what they sell and are not interested in satisfied customers! I put my clothes in and the bottoms are so paper thin that the drawer bottoms scrape the frame every time you open them!

They say No returns allowed! Buyer, beware of Linders!

Too Many Victims of This Bad Business

AUTHOR: Elsie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 11, 2005

I think there are more than just the handful of complaints seen on this site about Linder's. The Better Business Bureau logged about 10 times more complaints about them. I don't think what we see here are isolated cases. Linder's does not know how to service customers and seems to have no accountability -- it's a private company, right?

As a responsible consumer citizen, it'd be a disservice to not disclose this information to their potential customers. How can we get the word out beyond this site?!? They should hurt where they've hurt so many consumers --- in the wallet. That's the bottom line!

CALL THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND DISPUTE IT!!!

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 12, 2005

SAVE YOURSELF A TON OF AGGREVATION AND DISPUTE THE CHARGES FROM LINDER'S. YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL HOLD PAYMENT OR TAKE BACK THE PAYMENT IF THE PRODUCT IS UNSATISFACTORY AND YOU ARE NOT HAPPY. THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY WILL GIVE THEM A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME TO DISPUTE THE CHARGE AND WILL NOT PAY THEM UNTIL YOU ARE HAPPY. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I DID IT TO THEM. I ENDED UP GOING TO COURT AGAINST THEM. WHEN LINDER'S SAW ALL THE NEGATIVE CUSTOMER COMPLIANTS FROM THIS WEB SITE AND THE LOCAL BBB THEY SETTLED. THESE SHODY PRACTICES SEEM COMMON TO THEM, I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE MANAGER OF THE FOUNTAIN VALLEY STORE TO CALL ME BACK FOR THE LAST 4 MONTHS AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO GET THEM. LINDER'S SHOULD BE IN THE MAGIC BUSINESS BECAUSE EVERYTIME YOU TRY TO CALL THEM OR RETURN SOMETHING THEY DO A DISAPPEARING ACT.

Eric Foucrier - Get your act together

AUTHOR: Gerald - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 23, 2004

Eric,

I special-ordered a sectional from your Fullerton store back in August 2004 - we were told it would be delivered by late-September. Delivery date was pushed out three times. No biggie, we understand, and have been patient. On Monday of this week (Nov. 22) we were notified by your dispatch dept. that the sofa was ready and would be delivered between 12 and 4 Wednesday, Nov. 24 - just in time for our Thanksgiving gathering.

In the meantime, we had a thrift shop pick up our old furniture to make room for the new. Guess what happened? I got a call today, Nov. 23, from your dispatch telling me it WASN'T coming after all.

Here we are, one day before Thanksgiving, with not a stick of furniture for our guests to sit on, thanks to your inept shipping department.

Your customer service dept. basically said tough luck, it's beyond their control. I went into the Fullerton store to see what the manager could do - provide a loaner sofa for the weekend or whatever - but the half-wit running your store passed the buck on to customer service, telling me to call them in the morning.

There's an old saying in business: under promise and over-deliver. That means to promise the customer the *worst* case scenario, and they'll be pleased if it turns out better. Your company should practice that. It does no good to set the customers expectations unrealistically high, when you know you can't deliver on your promises.

I am a marketing professional. I know that it is 10 times harder and more costly to win a new customer than it is to retain an existing one. If my experience is any indication, you will never have any repeat business and eventually have to close your doors. As for me, I will NEVER buy anything at Linders again.

Get your act together.
