My situation sounds very similiar to several other i have read on this sight. My wife is in the Army and i needed someone to move me from Orlando, Fl to Fort Hood, Tx. I decided against the army movers cause i heard they were not very good. So i decided to go with a private company. BIG mistake!

Sebastian (the "salesman") did his job very well. Made me feel at ease with the contract and provided me with info that i hoped was the truth. In hindsight, never trust a salesman.

When the movers did not show up at the pre-schedlued time i called to see where they were and did not get an answer. The next day i finally got in contact with the the movers and was told they would be there the next day. The next day they showed up 4 hours after our scheduled time to pack my stuff. The lead mover was all jacked on energy drinks and was not helpful in any way.

When i got to Texas (without my wife because of the 2 day delay i had to pay to fly her to Texas so she could report to her new post) i called and let Yolanda know i had arrived. It took 3 weeks to get my stuff dropped off. When the movers were unpacking everything, i started to notice that almost all of my furniture had been damaged i some way. The subcontracted movers in Texas said they had never seen a pack job so half-a$$ed.

TV was scratched on the front face, large dresser was split down the whole side, coffee table dented and scratched, end tables the same thing. Two closet organizers completely broken, entertainment center had the backing ripped off so i can see the wall when i put it in place. The list goes on through every piece of furniture we own.

So i made a claim with the proper paperwork to receive compensation for all the damage. Come to find out the crack-head mover in Florida noted that all of my furniture had scratches and dents on it at the time of packing and the paperwork i signed before we left Florida had that included in it. Under no circumstances was i told about this, and i guess even if i was i am not sure i would have understood what he was saying anyway.

This move took place last October 2010. I am STILL waiting for my compensation to be sent to me. I am only slated to receive 180 bucks, dont get me started on that either. RIP-OFF!

Please do yourself a huge favor and DO NOT hire this group of hacks and thiefs. They should have thier business license revoked and they should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity.

I should have checked back to this earlier.  The rebuttal you wrote is hilarious!  So you are quality/damage control for this company?  That has to be the worse job i have ever heard of.  I bet it keeps you more than busy.  I also noticed you rebuttaled the same day i submitted the report.  Guess you are used to being reported for screwing up peoples lives and property. Have you read ALL the reviews on this site?  Dont they all sound similiar?  They do to me.

I am not a "blogger" and i dont usually get on the net to tell people how i feel about certain things, Low Country Van Lines changed that for me.  I was so sad, mad, upset, etc. that i was left with no choice but to take to the net to try and prevent other people from falling into the trap that i did.

I did finally receive my $180 but it took 5 times that to replace the furniture your "company" ruined.

I had a fair amount of furniture and belongings to move and i did not see the guys pack everything.  I did not realize i needed to babysit the "professional" movers i paid good money to move my entire life.  When i unpacked everything i realized how poorly they wrapped everything.  My TV, end tables, closet organizers, dresser, and entertainment center did not have ANYTHING protecting them from damage.

Finally, to accuse me of trying to "rip your company off" is absurd.  I am not asking for the world, i just want some accountability for your poor business practices.  Even admitting that you might not hire "professional" people to work for you might have been enough.  However, that time has come and gone.  Low Country Van Lines is a poorly run company who will not even stand up and admitt when they are wrong.  As a consumer, i want no part of such a business.

I work for Low Country Van Lines, I see how they pack the furniture, I cannot understand how every thing that you own could be scratched, when before the furniture even leaves your house, it is wrapped in thick tightly secure blankets, to ensure that damage doesnt happen. So the furniture is in the same condition it was when it left your home, as it is when it arrived to your new home. Also, there is a paper stating the condition of all the belongings and all the damages that were already there when the movers arrived; signed by you. If youre signing something, I would assume that you read it before hand, and knew the condition of everything before you moved. I guess you decided that trying to scam our company would be a great way to get some new things for your house. We cant be held responsible, because you dont like the condition of your TV, and your entertainment stand, when it was like that when the movers first got to your house. Dont try and scam, and take advantage of my company, to benefit yourself.
