If anyone got a job in Marcus Evans, please leave that company immediately! This company is the worst company in the world. I worked there for one and a half year. The first month I worked, all my clients that I pitched told me not to call them anymore, they have been hunted by Marcus Evans' call everyday. Different calls from different countries Marcus Evans selling the same event to the same customer. Oh.. my poor customer.

Some of the customer complained, they have paid very high ticket fee for one event but they gain nothing, and that event he attended only ended up 12 delegates, which the sales staff of Marcus Evans promise is 80-100 senior level executives.

But that's fine, I managed to worked in a tough company and reached manager position. Everything went well, until one day I decide to quit Marcus Evans. I saw all the real face of Marcus Evans.

My Boss (who is usually nice to me because I brought in many deals) now threaten me not to join competitor company. My Boss heard from one of staff that I joined competitor, they issued me an injunction letter. In the fact I joined a computer company, which is totally different industries. I called Marcus Evans and said you guys made a mistake, but my Boss keep saying I want to sue you! I want to sue you!

Well, I could only say, I never met this kind of company before in my whole life, which has only paid me 1,000 basic salary, and want to bond my whole career. Man, I need a lwayer for this matter. I can only sympathise with this poor wretched person from Hong Kong and reassure him he has NO need of a lawyer at all if he works for a non-rival.  Marcus Evans operate by bullying and intimidation of both employee and customer prospects. They are disgusting, horrible people and more and more of the world knows it.  The Chairman ought to be in prison and inevitably will end up there.  They never follow up their legal threats because they know they haven't a leg to stand on and no court will do anything but throw out their case.  You therefore need to do nothing except put it down to a bad experience, keep warning others and move on with your life.  I am out of Marcus Evans for 3 years now and I spent the first year regaining my trust and faith in humanity of which  you are stripped whilst working there.  I have spent the next two year rebuilding and looking forward to a bright future.  Nowhere in the world is there a company or organisation as disgusting and morally sick as Marcus Evans. The people who stay there and work up to be managers are only those who haven't a hope in hell of keeping a job with anyone else anywhere and who have deep personal and perosnality issues that bode well in such a den of utter iniquity. For those with a dose of decency Marcus Evans is a bad dream.  Treat it as one.

What a naive fool you are.  You are just the kind of weak minded person these scoundrels prey on.  And in so doing you perpetuate the practice.  The way you justified their dirty sales tactics was utterly reprehensible and you should be downright ashamed of yourself.  Your parents should be ashamed of you also.  Try to get a moral compass in the rest of your time on this planet.

I have worked with Marcus Evans for the past year and it has turned my life around.  Yes, some of the clients I called requested not to be called again.  The individuals at ME work very hard to remove unsatisfied customers from the call list and also work to repair any unsatisfactory responses from customers.  I have seen customers go from telling me not to call again because something did not go the way they thought it should, and then we worked to correct the issue.  Now, many are on my rolling call list as an ongoing clients.  Looking at the responses written on this page, I noticed one thing.  Whiners!  Whiners that can't even spell.  Sales is a dirty job sometimes, and we have to overcome people's instinct to turn us away.  Marcus Evans has helped countless companies to move forward in their career.  I personally have over 40 satisfied customers that re-book and re-book over and over again.  I don't even have to cold call new customers anymore!  
Long story short... it is HARD to work for Marcus Evans.  We sell a product that is d**n near unsellable because the customer cannot see the value until AFTER they do it once.  Once they do, the re-book at a rate of 75%!  Show me any business with a repeat rate that high!  We provide a service that NO OTHER EVENT COORDINATOR provides!  The meetings that are arranged are NOT POSSIBLE TO REPRODUCE for anywhere near the money.  Sure, some clients refuse outright, but many see the value in what I'm telling them long before I give them a price, and they don't bat an eye when I state the price.  
I owned a small business for 10 years, and if Marcus Evans had called me I would have begged, borrowed, and probably stole to get to one of these events!  It is exactly what I was looking for the ENTIRE time I was in business.  My company tanked as a result when the economy dove.
Now... Marcus Evans has given me an opportunity to help other companies, AND keep both of my properties in the process.  I couldn't be any more thankful for my job there, and I intend to continue up the ladder.  
Thank You Marcus Evans, Thank You.

Again, all of these non-spelling, no confidence, insecure losers SHOULD be working somewhere else.  And regarding one of the responses whining about not being able to work elsewhere in sales for fear of being sued for BREACH OF CONTRACT... TRY READING YOUR CONTRACTS BEFORE YOU SIGN THEM!!!  "Non Compete" is actually a VERY standard clause in this field (google it!), it is there to protect Marcus Evans from teaching you how to be effective at sales, and you taking that education and using it to benefit other, less successful, less talented companies.  I hope you are sued!  You should just get a job at Macy's and be done with it.  And on your off time, be sure to complete your GED, it will also benefit you.

Yes this sounds all accurate. Same dishonest unethical lying business practices are continuing to currently occur in their dodgy, shady, failing, financially-hurting, aggressive, high turnover, Boiler Room-wannabee North american offices including Chicago and New York office. Fake joke managers who cannot be hired as managers in any other company. New York, NY and Chicago offices are run by odd people who are obsesses with sales and tricky techniques.

I worked there for quit some time, and never have I seen so much turn around. The managers treat everyone like crap because there, so unhappy for choosing that company to call a career. You have to lie to unsuspecting people on the phone, so the whole job is really based on make believe. The only good thing is the event itself if you able to go.

Before the person that sold the most on the event was would go to the event, but rules changed. They started sending whoever they liked while the person who sold the most would have someone who didnt deserve to go to the event get the their commission. This was appauling the. people you worked with were insane and rude. It was the most unethical and unprofessional environment that I've ever been in. I've been harrassed by co-workers and that behavior was acceptable. No one ever stays at that crappy company. You also get paid the 5th business day of every month, which has to be illegal. So you would go sometimes 7 or 8 days at the beginning of the month without pay. What about bills being due on the first. Please anyone this company is only good to stay at for a month to receive a paycheck while your looking for your next gig.

Hi, reading all your comments I feel very relief that Im not the only one that thinks this company is evil.I only stand this job for a few months. The basic salary is a misery and then the comisions Id never saw it.

Every day at least 50 calls..they push me and push to be more agressive..sorry sir,I studied at an international affairs school..Im not a cheap telemarketing sales girl.

I needed the money,but not like this..it was the work or losing my mind (and my self respect)...so I quit, I found a great job in a great company a month later.
So for those who are researching about Marcus Evans before going to the "interview" (everybody pass the interview its just formality they hire everyone) dont waste your time, I know this ares hard times but I promise you will thank me this advice.Search for work in a store, or as a secretary, anything before being an account executive for Marcus Evans in Spain (It seems the issue is global looking at this page)
