I just got cancelled for the THIRD time in less than three months!  I like the "therapist" I've seen (seen a couple different ones), but they are just not reliable!  Last year I had a car accident and wasn't able to make my appointment and they still charged me for the missed appointment... This charge was congruent with what it said in my contract, so I sucked that one up.  BUT...

On May 25, about 2 hours before my appointment I got a call...  "xx is having car trouble and won't be able to be here for your appointment."  After I ranted for a few minutes, I finally got them to agree to comp me by adding 30 minutes to my account - whoopiee... at least they "gave" me something for my trouble.  I felt like cancelling, but I decided to reschedule since I THOUGHT they were trying to accommodate me.

The next available appointment with that therapist was in July (yes, it was May, but I thought he was worth waiting for... ).  July finally came and the morning before my appointment I got my confirmation call.  I was excited to finally use the service again...  well, that afternoon I got a second call - "he was in a car accident and can't be here for your appointment...  UUUGGGGH - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?   I had numerous months on my account, and wanted to cancel my membership, but they convinced me to use another therapist - the guy I had been seeing was really good, but clearly wasn't reliable, so I agreed to try someone else....

I actually had a pretty good experience with two subsequent appointments with the new therapist - I met with her twice in July in order to use up some of my banked massages)....  things were looking like they might be ok.  Not so fast...

Yesterday afternoon I got the usual confirmation call for my appointment at noon today...  all was well..  HOWEVER - I got a call at 9am that she is "really sick and cannot come in today."   I'm SO done with Massage Envy...  the person that called me tried to appease me by suggesting that I talk with her manager, but then had someone else call me back...  I'm not sure who that second person was, but she proceeded to argue with me and tell me that the front desk has no control over when the therapists come in or don't.  I understand things happen, but THREE times with two different therapists in THREE months?  REALLY - is that how you run a business?  They have no contingency - at least not at the center I've been using...  so no big deal if they cancel your appointment, but heaven forbid you don't show up for an appointment - they make sure they get you coming and going...  I'm truly DONE with them and even if I have to sue them I WILL pursue getting my money back - obviously I can't use their services if they continually cancel my appointments, so now they have to return the 4 months worth of payments in my account there!  DONE.

Glad your not in charge....  i was a customer for 3 years.  I made several referrals to them.  I am a reasonable person.  It it isnt just an inconvenience when you are not permitted - through no fault of your own - to use a monthly service you've paid good money for!  A business with integrity will do the right thing.   in this case it looks like Massage Envy is.

To give you an update.... the manager called me this afternoon and advised that they are refunding my 4 unused months ($240) and cancelling my membership per my request.  Will take 3 - 5 business days to post to my account.  I also ask for statement of my account and she is emailing to me.  If/when this is received i will be satisfied.

Not going to happen, when YOU cancel the contract ALL monies or massages owed are forfeited. Maybe YOU can give them a few more chances, atleast enough to get the massages owed to you. Otherwise YOU are throwing it all away. And NOT to be too much of an @ss about this but you DO realize that these are humans JUST LIKE YOU!!! They are NOT robots that they plug in at the end of the day. LIFE HAPPENS!!! Ok so YOU got inconveneced. THAT is NOT a ripoff. THEY have worked with you and given you MORE then the contract that you signed allows. You CAN cancel with them but YOU are the only one that loses out in this. THEY DO NOT have to do anything for YOU AFTER you cancel.
