The original sales pitch sounds wonderful..beware..if it sounds too good to be true it is. A lot cheaper and even better services at individual (no contract) services. If you sign a contract your life will never be yours again. It is like that "free credit report". Also, they want you to pay the $59 (price going up unless you quit in writing) plus $25 for a tip. To me, $25 is a Christmas Bonus. They short you on the amount of time you receive per session. They also won't allow you to stay with 1 or 2 employees that you like. They definitely have problems maintaining employees. I am writing this for my mother who is a senior and whom we do not allow to drive any more. She will soon be moving with me to Kansas where she would have to drive close to 75 miles to one of these shops. I have had the POA cancel her credit cards.

I have been a member since the May of 2012. I initially signed a 12 month contract. I read the entire contract so I understood exactly what I was getting. Yes it is a contract, just like Verizon, Huntville Utilities, and other big companies have you sign. With your membership you are getting a big discount so they require a contract. It's pretty straight forward to me.
I feel that their are holes in this "ripoff" report. Did you not sign a contract? Did you fulfill it? Did you even read what you were signing? Moreover, why are you filing for your mother? Seems her business not yours. I don't believe your side of the story is the whole truth. Where is your proof? I bet they have proof that you are wrong.
Long story short, if you are not reading the complete details of the contract which do indeed state that they require written submission to cancel then you are equally if not more at fault.
I love Massage Envy. I save about $500/year vs where I used to get my monthly massages. I also don't mind the tipping. Just because you are getting a discount on the massage does not mean you should lessen the tip for the person who provided it.
