Not so much a rip off per say as I already know to expect disappointment when choosing to eat at McTumors.
I already swore them off as last time I went into one I ordered some new deluxe burger that was not cheap..and it just tasted like the cheaper burger (lousy and cold), only bigger.
But there was severe traffic on the way home from work..usually a 35 minute drive was already in over 2 hours and I really had to use a restroom. It is always a scary experience getting off some unknown exit in Los Angeles, but nature was calling and the first place I noticed was a McColonblockers.
I was also hungry as my dinner time was spent sitting in traffic hell, so I decided to patronize the McCancers since I utilized their facilities. I should mention last time I went into a mcfilthys bathroom there was one dude sleeping under the urinal..and another washing up....in the stall..not a pleasant thought, sorry for the visual.
So I ordered a couple of cheeseburgers and went to the car to eat on the rest of the drive home. I opened a burger and realized it was cold. I know about the heat lamp but the cheese was never even melted..which means they threw this together and never even heated it at all. Now they taste like a*s and old socks as is..but at least hot it is almost (and I use the term loosely), tolerable. So I tossed that one out the window. Opened the next burger and at least on that one about 1/4 of it had the cheese slightly melted and it wasn't as cold on that portion..so I got a couple of bites before tossing the rest again out the window. I hope it doesn't kill any wild animals that find it, although they are probably smarter then me and will smell it and walk away.
Just had to vent this and once again I say NEVER again will I eat at Mcdysentery..use the bathroom reluctantly if a last resort..but eat that again??? Not gonna happen unless there was a gun to my head.

I think you meant "Intellect"..
AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Monday, March 22, 2010
Typically I would not point out a spelling or grammar error to help my point..but I could not resist the ironical situation of the word "intellect" being misspelled, especially when it was used in the title of a rebuttal.
Now on to the rebuttal itself. I did not have high standards at all. I expected crap, and that is what I got. However, I simply expected a cheeseburger to be hot..or at least warm or "heated", is that really too high a standard to expect from a well known burger selling establishment that has over half a century serving burgers?
I agree with you that this is the employees lack of care, I stated that in my replies. However a well run company would never have this problem. Step 1) take order, step 2) make sure order is correct (which would include making sure the hot food us actually hot), step 3) place to go order in bag. It is not complicated no matter how you slice it. So what happened to me basically..is one of 3 simple steps was not followed. And when dealing with food that already is crap..it was an important step. Actually I would not have lodged a complaint if the any other steps was not followed, as I would certainly have had some recourse on the spot if my order was not taken, or if the bag was empty. But they took the order, put the food in the bag..and simply did not have concern that the burger was cold, and the cheese was un melted. Once noticed I was already back on the highway in L.A. traffic, turning around to lodge a complaint or to have it heated was not a viable option.
Next....can you accurately define what 100% "beef" is? What part of the cow is the "beef" exactly? And what does it being 100% beef or 100% hoof, or 100% a*s-rim or whatever, has to do with it being simple or complicated? Order, heat, bag. Not rocket science.
Now you apparently did not read or comprehend this report in any way shape or form. I never stated I got this burger from Irvine, or had to relieve myself there. I was no where near Irvine when this indecent occurred. I was simply replying to Robert from Irvine, and the fact that I am familiar with the area. Where I got off was on my way from out east and heading west on the 210. I got off on an exit I never had before..but regardless, I would not expect cold burgers wherever I stop to relieve myself and decide to patronize the restaurant where I chose to use the facilities. As far as "safety standards", I am sure there would be a better chance to kill any bacteria had the burger actually been served hot.
Perhaps what YOU eat at home has the same calories, sodium and fat as McHeartattacks. But I read the labels on everything I buy for human consumption. Get it.."actually read". I tend to buy whole foods that have no ingrediants other then what the food is. I do not buy anything that comes in a box. I do not buy anything that has a shelf life longer then a few days..except condiments, which I use sparingly. So if I prepare a cheeseburger at home..it certainly will have less sodium, fat and calories then McDonalds....but most of all..it would be served hot..imagine that? A hot hamburger with the cheese melted? Is it so hard to comprehend? And do you think McDonalds cheese is 100% cheese? I highly doubt it.
I agree with your bit of advise that when dining out the employees should look clean and professional. But to me all McDonalds employees look the same. Clean and professional. But apparently the profession calls for more then a bath and a uniform..it calls for understanding that we are not just paying for a cheeseburger..but to have it served hot..or at least warm as well. As far as the bathrooms..another story. Try reading a report before responding next time and your "intellict" level will appear to be increased.

Entertaining intillect
AUTHOR: James H - (United States of America)

I feel sorry for you having to experience such atrocity in McDonald's especially since we are expected to have such high standards. I will say your visit is way to common through out the country and it's not because McDonald's has sloven regulations quite the contrary I assure you. The biggest problem is with the employees at the specific location and the lack of care or concern by the management team at said store. As for your comment about burgers being simple that is not entirely accurate. Let me dis-spell some of your ignorance in regards to burgers at McDonald's. First; the meat in the burger is 100% beef and needs to be cooked to meet or exceed food safety standards so we can not just " heat it up". Second: Irvine is a very unpleasant place at best so you would have been better off relieving yourself on the side of the road. Finally; Although McDonald's is fast food and definitely not a five star four course restaurant, if you were to make the same items at home the calories, the sodium, and the amount of fat would be very similar in quantity.
A bit of advise to all; When dining out if the employees do not look clean and professional then neither will your service so beware.

Holy double Robert bank defenders Batman..
AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, March 06, 2010
I just realized..I am dealing with 2 Robert bank defenders. But it's all good. Bank defender Robert #2 has more right to discuss the litter...since I have been to Irvine, CA...and as soon as you get off the highway of the Irvine exit...it is a total dump. It smells like old fish, a*s and mayonnaise wrapped in a homeless persons sock...actually not much different then a McDonalds burger.
To Robert #2, I apologize. Although I dumped the burgers no where near your exit...it was still not very respectful I will concede. But as stated, it is all biodegradable (I believe) and will not effect the level of filth, litter, vermin and pollution Los Angeles is neck deep in.
Okay....I ask what does this have to do with the topic of the report? If you wish to lodge a report against me for tossing cheeseburgers onto the 134 west...I will respond with the reason..and that it was at least to my knowledge...organic matter.
And thank you for checking the laws for us..we are all on the edge of our seats with anticipation.

Fine Robert..enough with the littering nonsense..
AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, March 06, 2010
It was a couple of cheeseburgers, it is not like I dumped a barrel of used motor oil..get over it...it is not going to hurt the state I assure you. I only tossed the food, not any paper.
Regardless...what is happening here is that the report is getting sidetracked to a debate about littering laws, and sidetracking reports is a very common bank defender tactic..and once again Robert FAILED to comprehend my previous post where I clearly stated I know I would have been fined if caught throwing the burgers on the road...okay, enough already. Robert, get over it..you are hung up on a non issue.
Now this forum does not allow editing or deleting of posts..which if I could I would and just state the complaint.
So for the heck of it..lets assume I could edit the report to state this...just the facts..
I went to McDonalds and ordered Cheeseburgers to go. They were cold and the cheese was not melted. I was on my way home from work stuck in rush hour traffic so it was not realistic to return to the restaurant to tell the manager. I feel since it is expected that a cheeseburger be heated and the cheese melted, that the employees were careless. It is not that hard to heat a burger and put it in the bag. The restaurant specializes in burgers..and has for many, many years..you would think they would at least figure out customers expect a burger not to be cold.
No response or rebuttal is required from anyone..but if you are so inclined..please stick to the topic of the report.
Thanks in advance.

I checked the law...
AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, March 06, 2010
and the law won. So here it is.
CVC(California Vehicle Code) 23112
(a) No person shall throw or deposit, nor shall the registered owner or the driver, if such owner is not then present in the vehicle, aid or abet in the throwing or depositing upon any highway any bottle, can, garbage, glass, nail, offal, paper, wire, any substance likely to injure or damage traffic using the highway, or any noisome, nauseous, or offensive matter of any kind.
(b) No person shall place, deposit or dump, or cause to be placed, deposited or dumped, any rocks, refuse, garbage, or dirt in or upon any highway, including any portion of the right-of-way thereof, without the consent of the state or local agency having jurisdiction over the highway.
-------------------------------------
At least Ronny made a half-hearted(no actually about a quarter-hearted) attempt to admit he did litter. But he still would have gotten a ticket if a law enforcement officer saw him. As there is no "food" exception in the code.
Anyhow have you seen L.A. lately?
- Yes and it is because of people like you who don't see a problem with "some" litter, that has other people think it is okay as well.
Now of course this will be twisted in such a way(that only he can) to show that he didn't actually litter, or for him to try and convince us that his litter was "okay". But in the end people will see right through this as they do his other arguments.
So thank's again Ronny for trashing California.

Calling me a "troll"?
When all you are doing is being the biggest troll on this site by posting responses that have little to do with the actual compliant in a feeble attempt to discredit it, just like you do with the banks.
This post is about being served a cold burger. If you have nothing to add regarding the cold burger, then troll elsewhere please.
I already stated earlier that it was not an excuse to litter, (once again you respond with lack of comprehension). The organic statement was sarcasm but most people of lesser intellect do not understand sarcasm, I should have realized that. I am fully aware I could have received a fine if I had been caught tossing the garbage (McStenchburger) out of the window. But I am sure some wild animal will eat it, birds will eat the bun..some coyotes or possum or rats or roaches or other various vermin will eat the "meatlike" cold patty.. it will simply go back into the earth..hopefully it won't pollute it too bad..as L.A. smells like feces and urine as is.
So thanks for the lesson on cellulose vs organic...but not interested and it bears no relevance as a rebuttal to this report...in typical troll style.
Kindly go back to bashing bank victims..you are miserably failing at bashing a victim of a cold cheeseburger.

"Normally "food" would be considered organic and not actually be littering"
Yeah, right! Kindly cite the appropriate California State/municipal ordanance that excludes "organic" stuff from the littering ordanances. If such an exclusion exists, it would be the only one in the entire U.S.
Littering is littering you troll. Doesn't matter what the litter is, cigarette butt, newspaper, hamburger-the fine is the same. Oh, and guess what? A cigarette butt is cellulose, newspaper is cellulose, and hamburger is protein-all organic.

Rsponses for Ramjet and Robert...

Ramjet stated..
"So you just threw them out the window. You, are a slob. Disgusting!
Too bad you didn't get a ticket for littering!"You are right. Normally "food" would be considered organic and not actually be littering...but this was Mccraps..probably loaded with chemicals and preservatives..may outlast styrofoam. Anyhow have you seen L.A. lately? Not that it excuses my littering..but trust me, no one will notice a bun and some "meatlike" product on the road. Heck they probably wouldn't notice..much less care about a dead human laying out there.
"Did you use your debit card? (might as well cover all the bases here!) LMAO! Did they hit you with that secret, hidden, tax you griped about some time ago? LMAO!"
I can use my debit card with no worries..since I am opted out of overdraft protection the transaction would have been declined if the funds were not available for ANY reason...hence preventing the BANK from charging me $35.00 for a couple of .99 cent colon rippers if I made a mistake or some unauthorized charge was placed on the card.
And if you are referring to my report on Subways, I never said it was a secret, hidden tax..but a tax being charged on some items and not others with no posting of the reason. And guess what?....at least in the subway I go to..it now has a sign, albeit it looks like some kid made it on the home computer..that clearly states "all hot food, drinks and eat in are charged tax"...simple solution for those of us new to California and/or simply did not know about this tax.
"So, you don't like McDs and yet you continue to CHOOSE to go there. What does that say about you?
LMAO!!!"
You are going to have no a*s left if you keep laughing it off...glad you find this so amusing. But..if you actually read and comprehended my report, you would see that I do not "continue" or even frequent McDonalds. What does that say about you??? Perhaps you should read the actual report and you will begin to understand why I even went in the place. Circumstance more then choice, but I will not ever eat at one again..this was it.
I expected lousy unhealthy food. My complaint however was that the burger was ice cold. It is a burger selling business..not too complicated to heat a burger and put it in a bag. It's not rocket science. It's not like they have too much to do and can't remember to heat hamburgers or at least melt the cheese? Ever eat an ice cold lousy burger which unmelted cold cheese on it? Not edible. I did not expect that at all. That was a first (and LAST) for me.

a) heat it
b) put in bag

Yes common fact McDonald's does not serve the most nutritional food on the planet. I know this and I work there. I am on a diet and get a free meal on days I work, which I have 8 menu items to choose from. Yes they are wrong for serving you cold food: that is in violation of health codes. Why did you not discuss your concerns with the store manager? If you really hate us as much as you say you do, then stick to another restaurant. I know at our store if the manager gets a complaint about food being served cold, he will first refund the money, comp a meal for the customer in some cases in addition to a refund, and usually we fusses at us pretty bad.

However invective is used more to mean abusive language where I was intending on simple sarcasm and a little comic relief.
Bottom line..McGasbloat has been in business long enough to know when people pay for a burger..the very LEAST they should expect..is that it be heated..a little maybe? Melt the cheese for the love of Pete is that too much to expect? Mc Obesity.
On a side note..it is the next day..I only had a couple of bites..and I still taste salt. Unfortunately no matter how much sodium they use and regardless of it's detrimental health effects...it didn't help. If the burger would have been heated though, I would have not submitted this complaint because it's not like I expected a good tasting or healthy product from them..I just want a heated burger which it should have been..after all we pay a tax here in California for heated food to go. I should be refunded that as the burger was a McCheeseburgersicle. Cold burger..not edible.
