After pulling my resume from an internet career site, (which they claim will not help me find a new career), Mckenzie Scott contacted me. I was given a speech by the office secretary about the positive influence Mckenzie Scott could have on my career search and how it would be beneficial to come in for a no obligation meeting with Dennis Johnston. Dennis drew a bar graph showing how my resume was only reaching about 10-15% of the job market. They could provide a service that would increase that to 80-85%. This is false information. My phone has not been ringing and my e-mail box has not been filled. All they would need from me was a check and a signature. As I told Dennis I would need some time to consider their fee, he "suggested" very strongly that I provide them the check within a week, as the job market was becoming very volatile, due to the time of year. Upon discussing the options with my wife, she was asked to come in as a character reference for me. Dennis assured me Mckenzie Scott could help as per his quote, "We wouldn't have taken on your case if we felt we couldn't help." A minimum salary to be searched for was established and I was assured this would be a positive experience. Not only has the experience been less than positive; I received six (6) phone calls from the 600+ mass mailings sent out by Mckenzie Scott and no interview requests. That is less than a 1% return. I was told that all correspondence, from resumes to cover letters, would be done by Mckenzie Scott on my behalf. Their idea of writing a cover letter consists of three to four sentences as a template and I must complete the body of the letter. These templates, as well as their proprietary links on their private website set up just for me, can be found at upwards of a 70% capacity on Google or other reputable search engines. Their fees are outrageous. There is no justification for the fee they charge and the literature they create on my behalf. I was and still am unemployed when they took me on as a client three months ago. What they provide can be found by simply searching the internet. Though their contract clearly states there are no guarantees of employment, their charts and graphs are extremely misleading by showing almost constant upward trends in career searches that are succesful. Mckenzie Scott does not provide a respectable service. They extract methods and procedures from large internet career search sites and make it their own, at a steep price. I regret having posted my comments on the Ripoff Report before bringing my concerns to the attention of the company. Had I done so, I never would have posted what I did. After I brought my concerns to the company's attention, they were properly resolved.

Truth Be Told

AUTHOR: Jeffrey - (U.S.A.)

I feel bad for you and the countless people that have fallen victem to this company. I know how they work, as I was the head of their "international Distribution Center"

**laugh laugh**

Let me set something straight right now, I hold no Ill feelings towards this company, so revenge is NOT my interest here. However, for years I have kept inside and held a great deal of regret and guilt over things done while working there.

Clients are cattled through this companies office(s) in a very timely, scheduled manner. You are made to feel You are the most important person they are seeing. You are lied to from the very start.

You will recieve a packet with a letter from Mr.Paul Mills. Has anyone ever met paul Mills? has anyone ever talked on the phone with him? NO! because he doesnt excist! I know, because I knew EVERYONE that worked for that company! The lies start there and get worse. After you agree to their insane prices for the distribution of your resume, and YOU do alot of work yourself. It is then "proof read" meaning, given a once over by microsoft words spell check, its formatd by a resume builder that YOU can do yourself with microsoft office!

Your resume is then handed over to the "International Distribution Center". When I took over this Dept. it was a small 10 x 10 room and resumes were HAND STUFFED! If you had a letter that requiredyour signature, that job was given over to a bunch of low paid high school kids!

After a brief period of time, I got the approval to get a larger office for the "International Distribution Center". I then was able to secure better copy machines, folding machines and envelope stuffer. But at a price, the foldings are very very bad and the resumes would go out looking like a BILL!

The one thing that always bugged me was, lets say you paid for a 600 piece mailing, but the type of position you had or wanted only came up with 450 matches, you still paid for that 600 mailing. Yep, you got ripped off. And these mailings to companies were not something put together ust for you, oh no, they were a part of a large (not so large) Database that was dipped into over and over and over again for client after client after client. We would get letters from companies telling us to STOP SENDING THEM RESUMES! One such company even threatned to take us to court if we kept sending them. The short changing of clients never ended, never did a client recieve ALL the mailings it was promised because it just wasnt possible.

There were some good people there that worked very hard and beleived that we were helping people move on to new exciting jobs, but in the end, wed all know that the promises made by mcKenzie Scott were never meant to become true.

On their website, you will see "proof" that it works and even some comments left by "satisfied clients" . I laughed when I saw a few of these, one in particular, it was from a ex naval man that used the service and had found a good job, all thanks to McKenzie Scott. What was funny about it was the fact it was a comment made by the company on behalf of one of their employees, one alot of you probably met! he never used the services as a paying client at all.

I could go on and on about this company and the things they do, but it would take forever. Please, anyone out there thinking of using this company, "buyer beware" and to those that have already done business with them, dont let them get away with it. Do something to make them responsible for their actions. The son and father of this company are to blame, and they live a very, very comfortable life off your losses. Think about that
