I get email all the time from Merchant Circle wanting me to buy their expensive services that, quite frankly, I don't need. So I tend to ignore them or delete them as soon as they come in. We own a small business Licensed by the State and with the IRS. We are fully ordained with state marry and burial papers. We are psychics. Our business "somehow" got targeted by Merchant Circle last week.
I got an email titled "Be a top Merchant Circle" I ignored this and did the rest of my mail. Today I finally opened it up. And it was an "Red Alert Notice". I was told I had 10 days to respond or I would loose my account.
In horror, I was informed that "somebody" had informed them that "We did not have a legitimate business" so according to TOS, it was up to me to go and somehow deal with this on their agreement page.
I went to the agreement page--of TOS no sign box, no check box for agreement: nothing. I just went to my home page and had to "figure out what to do". Thankfully I found "contact us" which made me sign in, again.
I then tried several times to type up a letter cussing them out, giving them my tax id number, and saying: "It is considered slander to say my business is not valid without proof or investigation".
There was no number to call. Nothing. Since I had no comments on my site, I had nothing to verify what they are basing their claim of "someone said I wasn't a valid business" on. It is a way to threaten small businesses and for someone like me who is alternative, the reputation smear can break my 30 year reputation as a psychic.
I am dually mad that any company can base a determination to close an account based on "someone" account of "false business" (huh? how? Anyone can say that, based on what? According to Whom?) without due process to produce evidence to the contrary.
Come on folks, anyone with a grudge can close your business at this point if you go with Merchant Circle...Especially if the Email says "Be a top Mechant Circle". You too can be slandered.
