Contacted By Merrill and Associates last Feb,2014, we were prequalified for a loan modification, we gave them prepayment of approx 3000.00usd. We were told we would close within 6 to eight weeks. It is now almost one year later, and every month we get a request for repeat documentation, indicating if we provide it we will be declined.
Just Before 12/25/2015, I recieved another email stating my file was submitted to lender. Chase. I called then a few months ago and they had no record. Merrill and Associates advised me to not speak to lender as I could jeopardize my loan.
The last email I received advised us that they were using addition funds, and they were not refundable, I send an email asking for what. I am estimating every month they want my monthly bank statents, hardship letters etc.
I want my prequalified modification to close now, or would like a refund. The sad part of this I am a liscenced Realtor.
This is obviously a scam. A law Firm! Please be wary. This was to help over a tragedy to get back on our feet, all we did was loose more moneY, we need to elevate our home.

Eric Wallace advised us that if we didn't write any more negative reports on them they would give us a full refund... We received partial and was told the rest would be in next check run . That was months ago will not respond to anymore emails nor my phone calls so not only did they lie they took our money., just the kind of help we were looking for after a federal disaster. This Americas Law firm! Thought I right this on Memorial Day! As I worked at airport in NYC on 9/11 horrible

My husband and I were also taken advantage by this law firm. We are still waiting for our money back. We fianlly got them to send us close out papers today. They don't contact your mortgage company they give you false info that can be harmful to your morgtage and they lie and say they have sent papers or sent emails when indeed they have not. The lawyer Aileen Merrill Schlissel is busy playing on fb all day and taking trips. Eric leaves the office at 3:00 fails to return calls. Laughs at you when you get upset and thinks it's joke. Information was leaked out about this company this past weekend and they are loosing customers like crazy. I hope that this stops them from hurting others.
