Merrill and Associates Merrill Law Offices Took $2500 from me promising me they would get my mortgage interest rate lowered. Didnt do anything except file my papers for a modification. I have done that myself and didnt need them to do paperwork that I was capable of doing. Led me to believe I would have legal representation to help lower my interest rate. When I was denied a modification they just washed their hands of it and said there was nothing more they could do for me. Hell, they didnt even try. Multiple Multiple

 These a** wipes sent me a letter saying they could get my mortgage lowered.  I am currently paying 9,59% which is unheard of now days.  Upon calling and inquiring they stated they could get me a modification and my payment would be lowered to $700-$800/month from my current $1500.  I needed to pay $2500 and they agreed to accept payments.  Basically, all they did was send in the loan modification paperwork from my suck a** mortgage company, M & T Bank.  Well I can do that myself and I have.  There is no way that sending in modification paperwork costs $2500.  I was led to believe I would have legal representation.  Anyway, my lovely bank denied the request so Merrill and A*** told me there was nothing more they could do.  Say what?  You can't even try to negotiate?  Nope.  Banks want you to foreclose.  That was my answer.  They would not return emails or phone calls.  Finally after hounding them I recevied a message to call some housing authority to see if they could help me.  Hey Merrill and A****, why dont you refund my money and I will do that.  DO NOT believe their services and Do NOT give them any money.  It cost me dearly and I almost lost my home because of them.  They will not help you, they will only file modification paperwork.  Like I said I can do that and if any of you need help with that, I will only charge you $400!!  BEWARE of these Crooks.
