So, I have had my Toshiba laptop (preinstalled with Windows 10) for a few months now. From the get go I was deeply disturbed by the automatic update system, and the complete and total lack of privacy. I was a dedicated and greatful Windows 7 user long before so I looked past it. After the most recent updates (installed without my consent) things began to get buggy. First, the Xbox 360 controller I used for gaming stopped working in the USB 3.0 ports. Then it stopped working in all of my ports. Then, the Bluetooth driver disappeared and I could no longer use my mouse.

First I went to the website and tried every troubleshooting tip provided like a good little boy. Next, I called support and spent half a day on the phone with some rude man who disregarded everything I told him I had already tried and spent hours of my life doing it all over again through the remote support applet. Finally, he said "I'm going to recommend you subscribe to our premium support". Since he had the audacity to try to make me pay for them to try and fix what Microsoft messed up, I decided to ask for his supervisor. After being on hold for half an hour I got in touch with him and he continued to troubleshoot.

Finally he had enough and said he put me down to call tomorrow between 2 answer 5 pm. Guess what??? He didn't call. Finally this evening the hardware and device trouble shooter almost seemed to have fixed the driver problem! Then I followed the instructions to restart. I was greeted with a blue screen and a big fat "INNACESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE". I took the sensible route and tried to boot in safe mode. Now my screen is totally black and unable to boot. I now have a 3 month old bricked paperweight. After all this struggle and frustration I would like to unleash absurd profanities in this first hand account but I'd rather everyone see this than have it flagged inappropriate.

So I'll leave it at--curses and extreme profanities at you Microsoft! I considered my self semi-proficient with windows operating systems until now. From my research, a very significant number of people are expriencing the same issues I am. Now I have to spend another chunk of my time taking my new paperweight to Best buy, where I bought the computer along with a warranty. Im already prepared for them to deny responsibility for providing me with an incompatible operating system. I suspect I will even have to pay for my files to be backed up! It truly pains me to witness such negligent practices by Microsoft and the tech industry as a whole. Sincerely, A future Mac user
