Please would someone PLEASE tell me where debter jail is since I swear I hear about it all the time but never seem to get good directions.

Folks there is no such thing as a debter jail or prison. This is just a scare tactic the collection agent is using to scare you into paying them. Tell them to go and suck a lemon since their is no such place.

While you have them on the line tell them that you are to talk to me like a normal respectable human being (not a five year old that didn't get their way) or you will be talking to my personal friend "Mr. Dial Tone."

Sorry but again per your posts here you sound like you were the adult here and if the other party can not act like one then just terminate the phone call right then and there. Like my mom use to say....He who raises his/her voice first lost the fight.

Afterwards document everything that was said which would include the time of the call, the person's name and what was said. Include direct comments from the caller and the tone of that persons voice. Harrassment will not be tolorated and is grounds for legal damages in a court of law (see state law for state to state rules). This is also a violation of the Fair Debt Collections Act so I would also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and your state regulatory agency that handles banking affairs.

Only can we win with knowledge so take a moment to read up on the law via this site or other sites on the web.
