I received an item from Mineral Elements on Friday night, and called Monday to find out how to return. They said I was past my grace period. Even though I received it on the 18th of Sept. they say it started on the date it was ordered which was the 9th. So they purposefully stalled the shipping to automatically charge you and avoid having to credit you. I told them I want to return, since I did not order. They refused to credit even if I returned.
I later found out that my 9 year old daughter thought she only had to pay the amount they listed and did not know it was a scam..she was on computer and the ad popped up. She used my credit card without my permission.
I am trying fight it with my bank. I currently have canceled my credit card so the fraud of a company can't charge me anymore.
Why does the government allow these companies to continue to operate.

The company is not fraudulent and the bank doesn't owe you anything. It was a legitimate transaction as far as they are concerned, they don't even know you are telling the truth, maybe you made up the story to return the product out of their return period. You need to pay it and then deal with your daughter so she won't/can't do it again.
you made some mistakes, learn and move on.

Why is it that your 9 yr. old daughter has access to your credit card?
An even better question is, why is your 9 yr. old daughter surfing the Internet unsupervised?
That would appear to be your most serious problem.
