On January 24, 2012, we attended a meeting at the Palm Canyon Resort in Palm Springs, CA. We were already owners of points with Monarch Grand and wanted help in using them. Instead we were sold a bill of goods by agent, Walt Dodge, who totally misrepresented the imminent  buyout by Diamond of Pacific Monarch. He promised that when the escrow closed we would have access to all the benefits provided by Diamond including a travel agency and a rental agency, among others, that would make owning and using the additional points we bought a veritable piece of cake. He said that we could rent out points through RedWeek and make enough money to make the monthly payments, but after the close of the Diamond escrow, their agency would take care of the rentals with just a phone call.
I called Central Reservations on July 26, 2012 after learning through the internet that the Diamond/Pacific Monarch escrow had closed and was informed that Diamond had bought Pacific Monarch, which no longer existed, and that Diamond had absolutely nothing to do with Monarch Grand, whose points we now owned.

I was transferred to Customer Service and told Carmen of my disillusionment and disgust at being lied to and she said Walt Dodge was still there and asked if I wanted to go back to my original contract. I, of course, said yes, since I see no sense in having many more useless points without the benefits and aid, promised to me by Walt Dodge, that would be available from Diamond. Carmen said she would have to consult her superiors and called back later to say that Walt Dodge was not employed by them and that I was out of luck because "I had signed a contract"! True, I signed a contract, but only because of the lies and falsehoods sold to me by Walt Dodge.

Consequently, I now own way too many points in a timeshare with only nine resorts instead of the "hundreds" I was falsely told would be available and will have to work twice as hard to make use of them. Walt Dodge is an unscrupulous person who painted a complete false picture of the way the points I bought would be administered.
