Mortenson Family Dental, Georgetown KY Will not pay for damaged crown Georgetown Kentucky

Two years ago, while having a filling filled, the drill the technician was using jumped and drilled/chipped a hole in the crown next to it. When she was finished with the filling, she gave me a mirror. I was shocked to see the black drill hole. I ask her what happened and she said "You must have done it, grinding your teeth at night". I told her I didn't have the hole when I came in for the appointment. She made some notes on her computer and left the room to "talk to the doctor". When she returned, she again said it was from my grinding my teeth. Even though a very clear "drill" hole was showing. I was stunned that they thought I was so stupid as to miss a hole in my tooth. I DO look at my teeth every day!

After a couple more visits, I finally asked if there was anything they could do to cover that ugly black hole.  Since I am spending money to make my mouth look better.  The dentist said I would need to replace the crown. When I reminded her it was done by her tech, she said she couldn't be sure of that, but she would give me 25% off a new crown. That is about $135 discount. My out of pocket will be over $400. Perhaps she really didn't know, since I couldn't very well follow the tech out of the room that day and make sure she talked with the doctor.

She made me feel as if I was the one in the wrong. MY crown was damaged by HER office and now it is going to cost ME money to correct HER mistake.

No one else has had a drill in my mouth. She and her technicians have seen the hole in the crown several times and they KNOW when the hole was made. Why am I suppose to pay for their mistake?

If I took my car to my mechanic for an oil change, and it came back with a huge scratch down the side, I would expect him to pay for the repair, not offer me 25% off a new paint job!

Just sounds like a new way to make them more money. Cause a little damage, get more money. RIP OFF!
