Yet another issue with M&T banking practices. Checks not being honored when I clearly have enough money in my account and purchases listed the day I make the purchase and have enough money in my account, but then disappear for a day and reappear on a day when it will allow an NSF fee against my account. My direct deposits come in the same day checks are being presented against my account but are still not being honored and then add an NSF fee. I have called the branch only to be given lame reasons as to why this happens. So I have done my homework this time and have screen captures of my account. When I told the branch about these anomolies they told me that I can't rely on the web banking balances. So I ask why do you even offer web banking if I can't rely on the information being displayed. I rely on that information to make decisions on checks and purchases and if I can't then web banking and the information it provides is useless. My account is being manipulated in a manner that gets M&T as many NSF fees from me as possible. In January I paid over $900 in NSF fees, yes, over $900. Hopefully perspective new customers will use this information to choose not to bank with M&T and put them out of business.

I feel that the individual that posted before me is incorrect! I have had the SAME issues with my bank. I transfered $500.00 from savings to checking, they screwed up my transfer and instead transfered from checking to savings, this bounced two payments of 310 and 500 when there would have been 1200 in the account. Then after that I transfered back $800 to cover bounced fees and the other payments which put account at around 1000. INSTANT WIRE TRANSFER from online banking. Closed the account out after two other payments cleared. Now, they denied credit card payment AFTER THEY TOOK THE MONEY. They also returned the other payment. Where did the money go? IF YOU BANK WITH M&T get your money out NOW!!! I Warn you! I waited too long and now I'm screwed.

You are clearly writing checks and making purchases well before you have enough money to cover them if you think you have it "timed" properly with your direct deposit.
You can only do this after the deposit clears. Had you kept a register as you should, you'd see that you would have been negative when the purchases/checks were made. But you already know this, just got caught, and feel the need to blame the bank.
