I was on the interent searching for schools or places that offer cdl training to obtain a cdl.
I found it and it was drver solutions and mtc driver training. I did all of the required info and the recriter was very sweet and nice but hard to get a hold of at times. Everything went down to my fincancing-I can not got o school because of the MONEY.........i got pre hired by a company but I have BAD credit and need a co-signer or pay $3,700.00 for the training. I do not have it or a co signer to sign on with me and $3700 is a lot of money when ypu dont have it. I did not know that the company wanted people with good credit to be able to get a cdl.
If i had the money i woul dalready have a cdl and have paid my own schooling by NOW........to me , they should have told me that in the beginning intead of me thinking i could get my schooling paid for that way.............
I have to wait ; then get my cdl and pay for it myself. So , then i can get my cdl and a good job as an otr driver.
It pisses me off that i was not told about the credit issue for the financing for school.........now, i had to get other means to get the cash for training then try to get out there.

If you check driver solutions and MTC websites you'll find that companies (Stevens, Hogan, Swift, Averitt, P.A.M.) that will pay for your training provided you go to work for that company for a specified amount of time. There's money there for you, all you need to do is have some spending cash for your personnel expenses.

See if there is a community college near you that offers training. Check into their loan options.
You should really try to avoid a company sponsored training course like CR England that way you will find yourself up a creek.
Some trucking companies may pay your tuition but expect you to work at least a year for them. If you don't work the year you end up paying them.
