I received 3 messages on 12/17/2010 from 34095, with the following text:
Message 1: "U requested daily mymobilelove texts. Sub service is 9.99/mo + Msg&Data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel. Reply HELP for HELP. Enter on web: 2137"
Message 2: "We all say things we later regret, but you should give (and accept) sincere apologies once cooler heads prevail."
Message 3: "Enjoy your daily Love texts, daily alerts billed at 9.99 per month! To quit, send STOP to 34095. For help text HELP. supportimymobilelove.com."
After the third message, I texted HELP to 34095 and got a fourth message:
Message 4: "MobileLove Alerts: Love on your mobile! 9.99/mo daily alert. Renews on 2011-01-17. Msg&Data Rates May Apply. 8773824750. Reply Stop to STOP.
When I called the 1-877-382-4750 they provided on the message, I got an very unclear and bad quality recording that only asks you to leave a message, so I left a message requesting they call me at my phone number, but no calls yet.
I called my cellphone company (AT&T) and mymobilelove had actually charged me the 9.99 to my account. AT&T Reversed the charges and stop the service, but after my request to know who is behind this, they did not/could not inquire about the company.
My AT&T representative said that this is normal when you go on facebook and myspace and do quizzes, for example. But I don't even have myspace and I do not do any of the quizzes on facebook. I only check my friends updates and that is all.
This company somehow got my cell phone number, which, by the way is listed on the "Do Not Call" list at donotcall.org and tried to charge me for a service that I did not request. I think phone companies should stop ALL third party requests for service charges until confirmed by the customer.
The supportimymobilelove.com brings back a "404 Server Not Found" error on my browser.

This happened to me as well, I did this and I hope you will too! I'd would like to make a suggestion that you file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission in regards to this unsolicited text & subscription service. If enough of us complain, maybe we can help others not have this problem. They have an online form that is fairly easy to fill out and submit. |
