National Fitness, Total Results Fitness Fraudulent billing practices Layton Utah

National Fitness Financial is the financial arm of several gyms around the country including the gym that I recently joined and then canceled, Total Results in Dallas, Texas. 

I was on a month to month membership.  I was informed that I needed to give 60 days notice in order to cancel. I gave my notice on March 1 via email (I have proof of this correspondence).  After not hearing anything for several days, I contacted National Fitness per the club's instruction on March 10.

I wanted to confirm that my cancellation had been received. They confirmed it had been received, but claimed that my membership would expire on May 15 which would be 76 days past my cancellation notice.  I told them that I cancelled on March 1 so my last per the contract should be April 29th. I fully expected and am willing to pay the last two months (March and April) per my contract. 

Since they are claiming that my last day is May 15 they are also saying that I now have to pay an additional "enhancement fee" that just happesn to be charged in May.

This is an abuse and does not hold to my contract's provisions. I gave 60 days notice.  I should only be charged for those 60 days and not anything in addition to that.  I believe this club is milking my cancellation and extending into May to extort this "enhancement fee" from me.

I will do everything in my power to not pay this fee.  If you are considering signing up for a gym, make sure they do not run their financials through this "business".  As you can see from the numerous complaints on here and the Better Business Bureau the are a crooked organziation that needs to be examined for fraudulent practices.
