I purchased a laptop at Nebraska Furniture Mart in Sept. of 2008 and $714 for the computer and $199 for an extended warranty. I asked the salesman if the computer was a 64 bit system because I understood that type was more up to date and he said it was. Four months after the purchase, I had to reload the system and to my discovery, it was a 32 bit system.

My friend who knows computers said I got ripped off big time. The trouble didn't stop there. I had a problem with the computer and went to the 'supertechs'(what a joke) and they gave me a card and told me to call that number and the supertechs(even though it was the right dept, they talked about them in 3rd person) would come out and repair my problem since it was under warranty.

I called the number and explained what I was told to this lady in Kansas, and she said they had given me wrong information and she would call back. She never did. I finally called again and reached someone in Omaha. I explained what had happened and he said ol' so smuggly and proud, "we don't cover software and they never tell you that when you purchase the extended warranty, did they?"

Then with a firm tone of voice he proceeded, "I you want us to check to see if we can service it, the fee is $39 dollars. The cashier that sold me the plan stated it would cover ANY and ALL problems, point blank. 2 huge lies are too many. I am so disgusted I don't even know what to do next.

I was a purchasing agent for a small company for several years and always could rely on Nebraska Furniture Mart. I guess when it comes to their electronics though, They are no better than any other scammer you might find.

My guess is that the system is 64 bit but you actually loaded 32 bit. If you're loading Vista which you probably are, you have to select x64 NOT x86.
