My income tax return was deposited on March 7 2013 and I received a text saying there is a problem with my account. I called customer service and was asked to provide copies of my ID and Social Security # and told it would take 2 days to process this info. After the time allotted I called to check on the process and was told I need to fax the original info( ID & SSN ) and a bill and it will be an additional two days for this process, which I complied too. On the fifth day March 12 2013 I called back and was informed they received and processed the information and they have closed the account due to security reasons which they would not provide any details about.
March 18 2013 I received a text stating the account was closed, and then on March 21 2013 I received a text stating that there is a 0(zero) balance in my account. I then called customer service again to see whether the money was being sent directly to me or back to the IRS in which they replied they would be send the balance of the account to my address (provided in my Netspend account info). I was told it would take up 20 business days.
April 3 2013 I called customer service to check on the process because I had my doubts after being told they would unlock my card once I provided the info they asked for and they did not keep their word. After speaking with a representative I was told that indeed the account had been closed and a check had been sent to the IRS which I thought was strange being that they received the funds electronically. On the 19th, April 10 2013 day I called again and was told that my balance was spilt into two different checks one for $5000.00 and one for $3996.00 and had already been mailed and I should receive them any day now. Today is April 12 2013 I have received any check and was told today that the checks sent out were cancelled and the money electronically sent to the IRS on April 3 2013 and I should get it by May 1 2013. When I said that I never even received a cancelled check the reason could not be given and the representative moved forward to end the conversation saying there was no more info ration that could be provided.
