In reference to Patrick Simpson and Network International Modeling Management, I spent the 5,000 dollars to go to new york, but i was involved in a head on collision the day before i was suppose to go.

The acting and modeling classes that were held once a week were a joke. Sure Mackie and Gina taught us some basic walks, things for auditions, etc.....but when it came down to it nothing was prepared for us in advance. They scattered when class began. The office was located on Sherwood Forest blvd. Which they didn't pay the rent, i know the landlord of the office building. He packed up the office and took off without telling any of the models and actors....I dumped thousands of dollars into Patrick and his company. That's not the best part either.

Patrick Simpson told me that he had sent my ZED card to Thompson Models in NYC and that they wanted me to move there and sign. I left both my jobs, sold my car, my girlfriend quit her jobs we sold everything we had to move there. I take a greyhound bus into nyc from where i lived at in Johnson City. Walk in there with my toilet seat looking portfolio that they gave us and told them that i was there because they wanted me to model for them. They had never heard of me nor ever received a ZED CARD or ANYTHING from Network International. I spent 12,000 dollars moving on what Patrick himself told me. THAT I HAD A CONTRACT....

All together there were 30 something models and actors. Patrick is a great photographer, i will give him that. But if you want something professional, like modeling GQ, IMG, NEXT Professional. Go somewhere else, your dreams will be conquered with lies. Patrick didn't pay his workers for months, GINA AND MACKIE...i know this for use because i am friends with both of them. Mackie, my agent was always broke. He kept telling them that the check was sent from Arizona, this and that....yadda yadda yadda.

WHAT I AM GETTING AT IS THIS, He takes advantage of people he see might be able to afford his trip to NYC....there are other ways of establishing yourself. Be patient and be cautious. If a agency is interested in you, they will pay for your photoshoots. etc.......be patient

Where there's Fire...there's FIRE!!

Patri(c)k Simpson has more excuses than an 8th grader late with his homework. He blames HIS employees; he blames the "models"; he blames the weather. The thing is, an honest businessman who truly knows his business wouldn't have to defend himself so often.

I can't stress enough how sorry I am that these folks were ripped off, but the fact that your mother thinks you're pretty enough to be a model is NOT reason enough for you to go out there and do something about it. If a reputable agency signs you (that means one that doesn't want anything from you but your time AND they have an agreement with you IN WRITING that says that they won't make any money unless you do and it's a reasonable, normal fee (10-15%)); or if you are represented by an agent who is shopping you to a reputable agency (again, the agent and the agency would NEVER ask for you to pay them money up front), then you should pursue modeling. Otherwise, you are just being scammed.

Look at the pictures on the Network International website. Even if you are blinded to your own looks - look at the "models" featured on that site - they are so far below par that their own mothers wouldn't say they were attractive. I have NO idea who his supposed star is (Alexa who?) and the funny thing is neither does Ford or Wilhemina or even JC Penney catalog.

The "success stories" have no actual data and the pics that they show are from some of the most off the wall looking magazines (if that's what they are) that I have ever seen. The lighting is AWFUL in every photo on that website and, you'll notice that the bios of the company don't actually show you pictures that define who is who. I am guessing that is so you can't actually pick Patri(c)k out of a lineup.

I am a model who has worked for a reputable firm for 14 years with over 130 print ads and 3 major cosmetic campaigns under my belt. I have seen girls railroaded by people like Patrick and his shady company before and it makes me ill. No matter how many times you tell someone that a real model will never have to pay anything out of pocket to get work, they want it so badly, they are willing to be scammed. It makes my heart hurt. Modeling is not a noble profession, nor is it glamorous, like most people think. It's a shame that it is glorified to the point where people can be abused like this.

A simple rule of thumb is:

1) don't ever even think of speaking with someone who is trying to get money from you to make you a model

2) never, ever, ever work with any agency (even if for some ungodly reason Ford would ever do such a crazy thing....even them) that gives "lessons" or "classes" of any kind - that is a conflict of interest and can nullify a contract

3) a reputable agency will have your portfolio made for you without any cost to you. If they don't offer that, then you are obviously not model material and you can do one of two things: either work on your aesthetic and try to change it to what they are looking for and try again; or simply move on with your life and love yourself enough to go to college or do whatever makes you happy without being duped into blowing your money to satisfy your ego

4) love yourself enough to not have your pride and confidence diminished by a sheister.

Good luck and God bless you all.

I sense a pattern here ...

Hmmm. If you do a search on Patrick/Patrik Simpson anywhere in the ripoff report, you find over and over a person who is accused of being a scam artist, constantly blaming everyone else. Blaming the accuser, blaming third parties, blaming uncontrollable circumstances ... and playing the victim.

I love this post's rebuttal more than any I've seen yet because he actually says "I am the victim." Sooooo touching.

THIS IS WRONG INFORMATION POSTED

AUTHOR: Patrik - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, May 21, 2006

Chris,

I can only assume this is CHRISTIAN LA BAR. I have to repsond to your posting because it is incorrect. I think you have been given a lot of WRONG information from your "friends" Gina La Cutza and Mackie Mc Duffie. These were the two people who stole my clients, stole money from my Louisiana office, and then opened up their own company down the street. If you know the landlord of the building we were in, then you know the TRUTH. That the rent was paid on time, until I turned over the "local books' to Gina La Cutza to write the bills directly. Do you think the new company they opened was with their OWN money? It wasn't. They ran my Louisiana office into the GROUND. If you would have spken to me directly, you would have known the realities of working with Thomnpson Models in New York. I did submit your portfolio (copies of your book, I PAID for) to Thompson in New York. They did have interest in you. At NO TIME did I EVER tell you to SELL off your life and move to New York. You made that decision on your own. If you recall, you did this with the support of your "friends" Gina and Mackie. maybe they used my company name, since they were under my employ at the time, however, NEVER did I authorize you to move to New York to model for Thompson. That wasn't even the FINAL agency I had in mind for you. You fail to leave out of your posting the fact that you werea stripper and a male Hustler. Did you forget these things? What did you think would happen when you arrived in New York? I never even knew you had done that till after the fact? I was a victim of Gina and Mackie..and their lies and dishonesty. Unfortunately, you were a victim as well. But, never from me. I shot some AMAZING photos on you, and paid for your zed-cards..I did everything I said I was going to do for you and advanced all the services to you because I believed in your potential. It's too bad things ended up that way..but, you took sides with your "friends' when they pillaged my Louisiana office and opened their new company. Unfortunately, you were misled to the wrong side. I never did anything wrong to you and never took advantage of you, as so many had before, from what you said to me. I wish you all the best, and I think you need tyo let this go. My Baton Rouge office closed three years ago.
