nj cure rip off/claiming fraud on my app from 7 yrs ago/they are looking for ways not to pay claim Princeton, New Jersey

Hello, I seen television ads for Cure Auto Insurance. The ads are very reassuring being that they make claims saying they are not like other auto insurance companies who asks irrelevant information just to get auto coverage. Their rates seemed pretty good and I thought I should try them out. Filling out on the online application was a hassle within itself and on top of that, you have to wait for someone to call you in order to get a quote. As you know, if you are looking for a quote for auto insurance, you want numbers right then and there. You dont want to have to wait 2 or 3 days. The application is long and tedious and took me about 30 minutes to fill out. The questions are personal and I don't really see what some of the questions have to do with car insurance. So anyway, I finally receive a call from an agent and this person is very rude and condescending. He is asking me about personal relationships, he asks me about my brother and sister who hasn't lived with me since we were children, he's asking me about my parents, the list goes on and on. I was in 1 car accident four years ago, a no-fault accident at that, and he is asking mt irrelevant information on that. Then he accuses me of being promiscuos because he said in my file there was more than one man driving my car! At this point I am appalled and I feel totally disrespected. He asks me about my daughter's father, who I haven't talked to in years and wants to know if he is in my daughter's life? Excuse me?!! What the h**l does that have to do with anything? In their commercials they make it seem like they don't need all that extra informtion, but in reality they are the worse and most disrespectful people I have ever worked with. The rates are cheap and now I see why. In the end I went with Progressive.

i beleive that from the way it sounds your old insurance company was well within their rights to cancel your policy. having no knowledge of your case other than the information that you presented, an undisclosed household resident--particularly one with a disability that evidently impairs their skills behind the wheel yet they have a license (you didnt mention this-- does your roommate with MS have their own separate insurance? ) is a scary thing to any car insurer. add to the mix that you let someone who is not covered on your policy drive your car AND get into an accident? having worked in insurance, this sounds like a pretty cut and dry case in favor of the insurer. thats my opinion-- are there any other insurance people out there with a different take on this situation? i just got a really great price quote with nj cure and ive been trying to do some research/background checking before signing up.

Well, the fraud division of NJ Cure has finished their investigation.  They say that my roommate was not listed on the app, therefore they cancelled my insurance as of 8/20/2011 even though I was paid up till 10/12/2011.  Yes, I got the refund diff for the.  My roommate does not drive, he has MS, and he hasn't had a drivers license since 1996 when his MS took a turn for the worse.

I have got a new insurance carrier which is costing me more money, but I do not feel as though I am doing something wrong.  NJ Cure sure made me feel like a criminal which was totally uncalled for.  NJ Cure truely is a scam.
