North American Prize Pool Scam of new scams... Good thing I know these things are out there! D.Scarborough Ontario

I got a letter with a check in the mail. The check was for the amount of $6,250.00 and was even signed in ink. The check said it was from the G&A Snack Distributing, Inc. Company. This company is real, I looked them up on the internet. The letters from the scammers must be getting better cause mine had no errors like one that I read about did, but it was all the same information other then that.

The letter stated as such:

MANAGEMENT AND PAYMENT CENTER
Sweepstakes and E-Games Payment Verification Centre
GOVERNMENT ACCREDITED LICENSED!!!
REGISTERED UNDER THE DATA PROTECTION ACT:
Claim #2007/737/4403
REF # CHIS/00052/CB/2007

ATTENTION: (Your Name)

SUBJECT: AWARD CLAIM FINAL NOTIFICATION

This is to inform you of the release of the North America Prize Pool as sponsored by a group of companies in North America. Your name attached to the sweepstakes number 628-8508-221 with a serial number of 7540-08 drew the lucky number 3-10-29-19-14-24 which consequently won the lottery draw in the second category. You have been approved for a payment of $100,000.00 USD (One Hundred thousand US dollars only) in cash credited to the file the REF: CHIS/00052/CB/2007.

This is from a total cash prize of USD $ 3,000.000.00 shared among (30) international winners in this category. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

To expedite the processing, enclosed is a deposit check of $6,250.00 US Dollars, which has been deducted from your winning. A red flag for me was that they wanted some of this money back in order for me to get the rest of the so called winnings. Plus I have heard of these before so I looked on the internet and found that this is a scam. Nobody should ever ask for money when you win money, And I had never entered any kind of lottery so I knew this was just unreal and had to be a scam.
