I made several phone calls to North County Truck Stop regarding a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 2500HD Diesel truck that I was interested in purchasing. I was assured by NCTS that the truck was in great condition.

After receiving the truck I discovered that the newly installed plastic bed liner was hiding the pickup bed that was not only scratched beyond belief (looked like someone had hauled rolls of barbed wire in the bed of the truck), the truck bed was cracked in several places needing major body work repair. The rear fender quarter panel had a sizeable dent in it and numerous small dents that were hidden in the photos. (The photos booth and lights hide a lot of flaws). I called NCTS and they played dumb, said they were  unaware of any flaws, but yet the transportation company pointed it out to NCST before shipping the truck to me in California.

The dome light didn't work and the seat memory didn't work. The extended camping mirrors (driver side) was almost falling off (it had one of four bolts holding the mirror on). NCST did pay $250 to repair the dome light, seat memory and mirror.

The tires were trash, no tread, and three different tires were on the truck, (two firestones, one goodyear, and one cooper tire). I threw them away.

So, when it comes to purchasing a vehicle from NCST....buyer beware.

Buyer Beware

AUTHOR: CH - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, January 06, 2011

As I stated in my original report NTTS did pay for the repair of the dome light, but the other issue was thatHarvey told me that he did not know where the bedliner came from. He stated that the bedliner must have been installed by the previous owner. He said he looked under the bedliner and did not see any problems. Now in NTTS's rebuttal they say that they installed the beliner to provide a quality product. It is obvious now that they added the bedliner to hide the flaws.

After I received the truck I removed the bedliner to find the pickup bed in horrible condition. The bed was not only scratched beyond belief it was also cracked clear through the metal in two places. The transmission cooler lines were leaking, (repair was $501.00) and the tires were junk. I spent $1,200 on new tires and $850 repairing the pickup bed. Total was $2,551, I didn't ask NTTS for reimbursement because I knew I wasn't going to get it and I never told NTTS I was asatisfied customer.

I am sure that NTTS has many satisfied and happycustomers...I can't speak for those customers...I can only tell you of my experience. If NTTS is such a stand-up company they can reimburse me for the tires, transmission repairand the body repair. I am sure I will not see any $$. If I do I will let you know.

Bottom line is, NTTS was not truthful, they simply did not divulge the problems with the truck. Buyer beware.

Customer said he was satisfied with the reolution...

The truck was described to the customer as having some scratches consistent with age and mileage. We do put bedliners in all trucks that have scratched beds in an effort to offer the best product possible, not to hide anything. I cannot speak to any need for body repair. If we don't know about a flaw, it does not mean we are playing dumb. The customer never mentioned anything about tires and we provide detailed photos of all tires in our ads. The customer requested $250 to pay for repairs and we agreed. After sending a $250 check, we were told by the customer that all was good and he was fully satisfied with the transaction. Now the customer feels it is right to file a rip-off report after we satisfied his request for reimbursement?

We have sold 3,500 trucks and we try to do the right thing. Sometimes it is impossible to find a solution that is amicable to everyone involved. I would say that the number of satisfied customers far outweighs the handful that leave dissatisfied.
