We drove from Waco Texas to look at trucks at North Texas Truck Stop and was on the lot for at least 30 minutes with no help and finially went inside to ask for help. My son asked them if we were being ignored because he had a stain on his shirt. We were shown a couple of trucks in the back that we were interested in but the trucks weren't exactly ready for sale but told them we would take one as is if we liked it. Noticing in the back they had a body shop where they cover up and repair damages. Drove one truck back in the back and truck rode rough and had repaint from front to back and not even a good job. (Probably not done by them). There was a 1999 Ford Diesel dually up front priced about $13,700 (book $7900). We drove the truck and run good and rode good but the over drive button was not working on the transmission. We brought this to the salesman and he seemed irritated that we even brought it up but took it to get it fixed while we went to eat. When we come back it was fixed but we talked to our diesel mechanic and he said to check the blow by on the engine and we opened the oil cap and it would poof, poof poof smoke like one weak cylinder and we were told that is what it was and when we told the salesman he laughed at us and just treated us with total disrespect and jumped in the truck like a crazy man burning tires to the back. What an idiot. I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box but I ain't stupid and it seems this salesman prefers people that know nothing so he can pawn junk off on them. We had $20,000 cash in our glove box to buy a truck but we were never offered to look at anything else and so we left. I've never ever have been treated with such disrespect in my life. My advice is to stay clear of this place if they work people like this. The salesman has a shaved head and told he is their top salesman... yeah, I'd say so when he is able to sell problem stuff to people that are unaware.

#1 UPDATE Employee
Apology
AUTHOR: North Texas Truck Stop - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, June 09, 2011
We would like to apologize to you if you were treated disrespectfully in any way. We appreciate you letting us know about our employee's digression. The owner of North Texas Truck Stop feels the same way as he also apologized to you himself and promised that you could deal with him directly if you were still interested in another truck. We do our best to make every customer's experience as comfortable as possible. If you were treated disrespectfully, we will not argue that. The salesman in question has been reprimanded. However, we feel there are some misconceptions about who North Texas Truck Stop is and how we do business that we must address.
We take take a laid-back approach to sales at North Texas Truck Stop. We understand some customers expect a salesman to approach them as soon as they drive onto the lot. With such a large selection on our lot to browse, we find that the majority of customers prefer not to have a salesman following their every footstep. Rather, many prefer the freedom to browse without pressure from a doting salesman. We have receptionists and salesmen waiting to assist anyone who walks through the front door. The stain on your son's shirt was not an issue. Since we specialize in diesel trucks, we sell a majority of our inventory to hard working men and women, many of whom only have time to shop for a new diesel on their lunch break or on the way home from work. There is certainly no jacket required at North Texas Truck Stop. We are familiar enough with our customers to know better than to judge a book by its cover...or a customer by his coveralls.
The trucks in back that you referred to are our new arrivals and, as you stated, not quite ready for sale. If you test drove one of the new arrivals and felt it rode rough, that may be because we had not yet inspected and repaired any issues it may have had.
We do not have a body shop in the back. You are either referring to our detail shop or interior repair shop. We do repair worn items and buff scratches out of paint. I am not sure if that constitutes a cover-up. We are just trying to provide the best product that we possibly can.
The 1999 Ford book value of $7,900 does not include the $6,000 add for diesel engine. $7,900 would be book value for a gas engine truck.
The 7.3L Powerstroke diesel engine was designed to blow-by from the factory in order to promote piston ring longevity. All 7.3L Powerstroke engines blow-by. So, in that respect, it is what it is. Please see more detailed information about the 7.3L Powerstroke diesel engine and
blow-by at the following link.

Again, we apologize if you were treated disrespectfully. The salesman in question has been reprimanded. If you would like to deal with the owner of North Texas Truck Stop directly in the future, we will be happy to oblige you.
